Chapter 29
George suddenly felt a jolt run through his busily.
Calle was holding him, her touch unmistakably suggestive. But……
George felt uncomfortable all over, and without thinking, he pushed her away.
was shaken, her e
brimming with hurt as she looked at him.

“George, do you do you hate me now? Haven’t we been so close before?” Her eyes were red, and she bit her lip in a mix of frustration and

tieonge knew his reaction had been a bit too harsh, but something about it felt off. He’d been close to Callie before, yet now it was as if he was meeting her for the first time. The distance between them felt strange and foreign, and a sense of unease lingered in the air. Was it because he had forgotten their last time together?
On the other hand, when he was with Rachel earlier, he’d felt an intense rush of excitement. He cursed himself. Of course, it was because he was too familiar with Rachel’s body. That’s why his reaction was so strong.
Feeling guilty, George reached out to comfort the upset Callie. “Callic, just give me some time..”
Callie wanted to scream at him, but seeing the guilt in his eyes, she swallowed her anger. She nodded obediently. “I understand. We’ll take it slow Don’t feel bad“.
George couldn’t help but think how understanding Callie was, always so sweet and docile. How could someone like her be compared in a wild and reckless person like Rachel?
Meamchile. Rachel was waking up, her surroundings unfamiliar.
She glanced at the large bed and then at Herl, who sat nearby. Taking a deep breath, she quickly checked her clothes. She was now dressed in her own silk pajamas, a bit confused. “What happened? she asked.
Herb sighed in exasperation. “Don’t worry, it was the nanny who changed your clothes. You’re fine. But I should tell you–1 found you with George’s secretary when I arrived.”
The realization hit Rachel like a slap to the face.
“Yvette, you really have some nerve, she muttered under her breath, her lips curling into a sardonic smile. “Tell Ahmad I want to have a proper t with them about this.”
Yvette had thought everything was set in stone. After Rachel was drugged last night, she should have been at the mercy of those men, and Yvette planned to use the footage to ruin her. But to her surprise, the men returned, claiming they’d failed.
“These useless idiots, Yvette muttered under her breath, rolling her eyes.
“Yvette. I warned you to be careful with Rachel. She’s not someone to mess with. But what did you do last night?” Ahmad’s voice was low, his disappointment clear.
Yvette, unimpressed, looked at her father. “Dad, I know what I’m doing. I’m not an idiot. Even if I did something, she can’t do anything about it” “You…” Alumad’s voice grew sharper. “You can’t underestimate her. I’ve been caught in her trap myself!”
“That’s because you don’t understand women, Yvette scoffed. “She’s just a woman. No matter how smug she gets, I’ll take care of her easily.”
Yvette was arrogant, convinced no woman in all of Hurenbeim City was on her level. None could compare to her–Rachel included.
“Fine. Now Rachel’s asking for both of us to
us to come over. Do whatever you want,” Ahmad siglind, knowing his daughter wouldn’t listen. When Yvette arrived at Lake Villa, she found Rachel lounging on a luxurious leather sofa, one leg crussed over the other, holding a cup of water. Through the floor–to–ceiling windows, she gazed out at the manicured garden with an air of tranquility, like a queen sitting in judgment.
Yvette felt a stab of jealousy. This woman had gone through so much the night before, but now, here she e was, acting as if nothing had happened. When Rachel saw then enter, she placed her cup down and smoothly rested her hands on her lap, fixing her eyes on Yvette.
He said, “Ms. Carter, we women should understand each other. I didn’t expect you to sink so low and try to harm me. And Mr. Carter, this vice president of yours–well, it seeins the Sarrattop Group is too small a place for both of us. You should just take her back and keep her there.”

Yvette immediately retorted, “Ms, Sarratt, I heard about what happened to you last night, and I’m truly sorry. I must’ve been awful, but you cant just blame me for

Chapter 2
Rachel’s lips curled into a cold, knowing smile.
If these words spread, they could turn any rumor into truth.
“You’re saying these men hurt me?” she asked her tone sharp
She waved her hand, and suddenly, the door opened.
The bloodied, beaten men from last night were shoved into the room, stumbling in like broken dotk
One of them immediately dropped to his knees, eyes wide with fear. “Ms. Sarratt, we were stupid. We didn’t know who you were. We re so sorry”
Yvette froze. her mind racing.
What was going on! These men had told her they’d failed the job and were paid off to run. How had Rachel captured them so quickly!
Rachel chuckled darkly Catching these people was easy for her. They had no idea who she was. When they fled, they hadn’t turned off their phones, and it was a simple task to track their location and bring them back
“Now, tell me who ordered you to do this?”
The leader, barely recognizable from the beating, weakly answered. “It was her.”
Yvette immediately backed away, shaking her head in panic. “What are you saying? I don’t know these men! Don’t accuse me?”
She turned to Rachel with a forced smile. “Rachel, you think you can just find a few people and accuse me? You think that’ll bring me down? I won’t stand for this. I’ll go straight to the board and let everyone judge this for themselves”
In her mind. Yvette thought Rachel would never want this scandal spreading
But Rachel, with a chilling smile, replied. “You’re right. I agree. That’s exactly why I’ve already informed the board. They re now aware of everything that happened and we’re just waiting for their response”
Rachel’s voice was calm, but her words were sharp as daggers. Whoever spoke first controlled the narrative. She would never let Yvette spread her lies without first taking control of the situation.
Yvette was momentarily speechless.
Just then, Ahmad stepped in, trying to smooth things over. “Mt. Sarratt, let’s not get too worked up. I came here today to introduce you to a relative you haven’t seen in a while. We should discuss this together.”
Seeing Ahmad’s forced smile, Rachel narrowed her eyes, suspicion creeping into her heart.
