Chapter 30
“Rachel.” A familiar voice rang out, f
full of excitement, charm, and unmistakable enthusiasm, as a man appeared at the door.
In his fifties, he looked anything but greasy. In fact, it was easy to see that he must have been a heartthrob in his younger years. He smiled and headed straight for Rachel.
“Seeing you back makes me so happy. These past few days, I swear I’ve missed you more than Dean say!”
Rachel’s lips matched. She quickly steppeil back as the man, Bryant, entered.
He had come all the way from Arcadean City. How had he even found her here?
Rachel had told Martin before that while she was ready to return to the Sarratt family, she hadn’t fully forgiven Bryant. Martin had promised that no matter what, Bryant wouldn’t be allowed to see her. But now, Ahmad had taken it upon himself to let Bryant in
Seeing Rachel’s attempt to back away, Bryant’s face Jell
Rachel, I know you’re still angry with me. I know I hurt you. I was tricked back then, but I’ve kicked that woman out of the Sarratt family. I swear, it won’t happen again”
Rachel let out a dismissive hum. “Dad, it wasn’t about you finding another woman. It was about who she was. You knew full well how complicated my relationship with her was, yet you went behind my back and married her.“”
The reason Rachel had left home wasn’t simply because Bryant remarried; he could have married anyone, but it was that the woman he married was someone who had ties to Rachel’s past.
Bryant’s face twisted in guilt. “I swear I was tricked, Rachel. I had no idea she was the one who had betrayed you. I didn’t realize her true nature until it was too late. After you left, I regretted it so much. I’ve been looking for you ever since. And I swear, I’ll make those who betrayed the Sarratt family pay for what they did to you”
Rachel’s tone was icy as she interrupted, “Don’t bother, Dud. I don’t care about that anymore. I won’t forgive those who’ve betrayed me, but I’ve long moved past it”
Before George, there had been another man in Rachel’s life—an affair that everyone didn’t know about. That man was none other than the famous
Thovie star Rocco.
Rocco had been relentless in his pursuit of Rachel, and she’d grown fond of him for a time. But just when she was ready to open up to him, she discovered that he had secretly gotten together with one of her closest friends.
Betrayed by both Rocco and her friend, Rachel had sunk into a deep depression. But what hurt the most wasn’t even the betrayal–it was when she returned home to find that Rocco’s mother had been brought into the Sarratt family by Bryant, and they announced they had gotten married
Out of sheer frustration, Rachel left Arcadean City and came to Burenheim City alone. Time had passed, and she no longer cared about what had happened. But she wasn’t one to cauly forgive, especially when it came to those closest to her.
That’s why, night now, she didn’t want to see Bryant.
Bryant started again, but Rachel cut him off, looking directly at Ahmad. “Mr. Carter, thank you for your concern for the Sarratt family. But I’ve had enough of this spectacle. I’ve got work to do. I’ll have to ask you to excuse me now.”
Alunad, relieved to get away, immediately pulled his daughter and grinned as they walked out. Bryant rushed to follow them, but Rachel stopped him with a sharje command. I’m tired, Dad. Do you think Grandpa doesn’t know you’re here?”
Bryant froze, his face flushing with embarrassment.
“Why don’t you explain it to Grandpa yourself? I’ve got a lot to do, so I’ll be leaving now.” Rachel turned her back on her father, leaving him standing thei
Once she was pour, Bryant quickly grabbed Herb, when was about to leave.
“Herb, tell me how do I get Hall to forgive me? She’s been avoiding me. What should I do?
Herl sighed, helpless. “You know Rachel better than anyone, Bryant. When she’s upset, forgiving someone is harder than climbing a mountain.”
“I know, I know. tut’s what I’m struggling with!” Bryant’s voice cracked. “When Rachel’s mother and I had four sons, we loved her so much. She was our precious hole girl. I can’t believe I messed this up. You know how much I regret it! You have to help me. If Rachel never speaks to ime again,
Herle was feeling the pressure, so he sighed again. “Alright, alright. You know Rachel’s stubborn, but she’s will–hearted ton. Just keep showing her you’re sorry, and keep being kind to her. Eventually, she’ll soften uge”

“Who Bryant’s interest was piqued immediately
“George
“That brat doesn’t deserve my precious daughter. Bryant muttered under his breath, liis anger flaring. “But it’s fine. If Pachel wants him, I’ll make sure he’s hers. No matter who it is, I’ll make it happen for her.”
When Rachel arrived at work, she had no idea that her unreliable father had already started making trouble
Not long after, she received a piece of news.
“Ms. Sarratt, I heard that since Bryant arrived in Burenheim City, he’s been spreading the word that he’s heating a welcome party for you, with several celebrities invited”
Rachel raised an eyebrow. A welcome party for met
“Yes. And it seems he’s invited the box family as well”
