Chapter 35
Gracie looked at her with a pleading gaze: “Rachel, we’re good friends. You don’t have to hide anything from me
Rachel could no longer tolerate it. With a sharp tug, she pulled Gracie our
of the hall
“Rachel, please don’t be mad” Gracie said, walking alongside her “I’m in love with him. That’s why I came to ask you. I know someone like Rocco so handsome, so talented, he must have women falling for him everywhere. You may not be the last, but I thought, since we’re so close, I’d come to
Gracie kept rambling as they
y walked, and Rachel could feel her patience wearing thin. Finally, she dragged Gracie outside the banquet hall.
This was firyant’s choice of venue–the grandest banquet hall in all of Hurenheim City. The massive doors were gilded, and outside stretched a vast infinity pool, with a villa nestled halfway up a mountain. The serene atmosphere was only broken by the guests chatting as they strolled across the lawn
Their location was secluded enough that, had Gracie made a scene carlier, it would have certainly caught attention
“You know, when you’re in love with someone, you’re blind to the truth. You picked a man from the trash heap and now think every woman must adore him.” Rachel said coldly. “I don’t care about that, Gracie. But as for me? I haven’t given Rocco a second thought since the day he betrayed me.”
“Really?” Gracie asked, doubtful. “I don’t believe you. You loved him so much.”
Rachel shook her head, frustrated. “When did you ever see me love him!”
“You didn’t have a man around, but you were drawn to him. He was the most handsome, most charming man you’d ever met, Gracie said confidently. “If you’ve really given up on him. I’d love to know what kind of men you’ve been seeing since then. I bet none of them measure up
Rachel thought to herself, “What was I even thinking back then! I thought Rocco was so great, and that’s when I started to feel something
But the truth was, she didn’t really know what love was until she met George.
The way he stepped out of the light–she swore it was like seeing a god in human form.
And now, she got it. Love? Forget it. She’d learned the hard way: falling for someone just because of their looks? Never ends well
Rachel scoffed. “Any guy I’ve dated is leagues above Rocco. Heck, even my last ex–just one of them–could wipe the floor with him. And you think I still have feelings for Rocco? Gracie, you’ve gotten older, but your sense hasn’t caught up.”
Gracie looked unconvinced, but before Rachel could say more, Rocco appeared, shivering slightly as he walked towards them.
“Rachel, you’re seeing someone else now?” His voice trembled with disbelief, and the pitiful expression on his face made Rachel feel nauseous.
“Are you two in on this together?” Rachel snapped, exasperated. “Did you plan this little reunion?”
Gracie rushed to Rocco’s side, her voice anxious. “Don’t be upset. I’m here to defend you. I came to confront her on your behalf”
Rocco bit his lip and looked at Rachel with eyes full of hurt. “I know why you’re doing this. It’s because you still love me. You’ve been silent all these years because you’re heartbroken. I can’t believe you’d do this just to hurt me.”
Jess
Rachel stared at him, shaking her head. “The reason I’ve been silent for three years is because I’ve been busy with another man. I couldn’t care le about you anymore”
She wasn’t about to admit that those three years had been spent foolishly chasing after a man who didn’t deserve her time.
Ruzco, still desperate, tried to reach for her, but Rachel had had enough. She grabbed his wrist, swiftly locking him in a simple hold, twisting his am behind his back until he let out a yelp.
“Ah.. it hurts!” Korco screamed, sounding like a wounded animal.
“Rachel, let go of him” Gracie cried out, horrified.
Rachel, annoyed, released his arm, but this was] just the beginning.
“That woman–she’s trying to hurt Rocco, when he has no one to back him up, one of the fans suddenly said, emerging from the crowd.
Before Rachel could react, more fans swarmed them, huddling around Rucco, shouting with rage
Rachel gave them a warning glance
One of her tall bodyguards immediately stepped forward, creating a barrier between Rachel and the fans, pushing them back.
“What’s going on? Rocco asked, looking genuinely confused as he watched his fans crowding around.

Chapter 35
The fans, seeing how much for to seemed to care, got even more fired up. ”
“Rocco, we saw it all! This woman is just trying to stir up a se anulal with
“That’s right” We know she’s been following you around, trying to make her name off your another fan shouted
“Don’t worry, Rocco. We’ve got your back. We’re millions strong, and we won’t let anyone hurt you.”
Rocco looked on, dumbfounded and helpless
Rachel, however, couldn’t help but laugh bitterly I’m so touched, Rocco, Your fans really do have your back, huh?”
“Rachel, no, it’s not like t
Rocco stammered.
Rachel’s expression darkened. “You know what the consequences are for all of this, don’t you?” she said, her voice ice–cold.
The fans didn’t recognize her, but they pulled out their chests, ready to keep up the confrontation. The consequence is we’ll make sure you pay for hurting Rocco. We’ll make you regret ever messing with him.”
Before anyone could respond, Rocco’s manager rushed over, seeing the chaos unfolding. He immediately shielded Rocco with his body and
confronted the fans.
“What are you doing the manager yelled, his voice full of panic. “I’ve told you, things aren’t what they seem!”
“Rocco’s being bullied: We’re just standing up for him!” the fans shot back, glaring at Rachel.
The manager, now in a full–blown panic, turned to Rachel, bowing deeply. “I’m so sorry, Ms. Sarratt. This is all our fault. If it wasn’t for us, these ridiculous rumors would never have spread. Please, we beg you to let this go.”
The fans froze, confused by the manager’s sudden change of tone.
Before Rachel could even respond, the manager turned to Rocco with a distressed look. “All of our deals… they’ve all been pulled. Everything we had lined up is canceled.”
“What?” Rocco gaped, staring at Rachel in disbelief.
The manager then spun around, glaring at the fans. “This is your fault! You’ve been harassing her, spreading lies. Do you even realize what you’ve done! Rachel could have had Rocco blacklisted in an instant, and now, everything’s gone because of you!”
The fans finally started to realize who they were dealing with
“Wait this woman she’s not just anyone. She’s… she’s a big shot?” one of them whispered in shock.
“She’s the heir to the Sarrattop Group,” another fan murmured.
The realization his like a ton of bricks. The Sarrattop Group was one of the most powerful families in Kyoto. How could they not know?
Rachel, her head pounding from the noise, sighed in frustration and muttered, “I told you, Rocco never mess with me, especially not the new me This was all so beneath her. Having to deal with these clowns, these amateurs… It was revolting
