Chapter 17
NICOLASS POV
She looked at me closely. “She’ll never agree to be with you. Why would she? You kidnapped her
“And you were forced into a marriage you didn’t want with my brother. What’s the difference!”
Damien put an arm around her shoulders as she released my wrist. “You are aware that it isn’t the same, she responded.
“The only difference is your family picked who got you. Milene’s family didn’t get to choose. Neither of you had a real choice.“
She shook her head and glanced up at Damien, her eyes full of love. It was the kind of love that made me realize I could never hurt her. She looked back at me after that. With an authoritative voice close to an order, she said, “Let me talk to her.”
“Is that an order, Kiara?” I asked in a low, dangerous voice. She seemed to forget I was the boss
Damien’s hand on her shoulder tightened, but she stepped out of his hold and came closer to me. “No,” she said softly, her big eyes looking straight at me like they could change my mind. “I’m asking you as your sister in law and as a Russo
“Damn it,” I growled, glaring at Damien. “Couldn’t you have married someone quiet? She’s as manipulative as you.”
Damien had a proud look on his face and his lips quirked. I sighed. “I don’t know why I put up with any of you” “Is it okay for me to speak with her!” Klara asked hopefully
“Yes. But let me warn you Milene isn’t like you. She’s not as calm. If I were you, I would watch my back if I were you because she might try to hurt you
“I’ll take that risk,” she said, turning around and walking toward my wing. Damien followed her, clearly worried about her safety.
I let out a long breath and kicked the punching bag so hard it broke free from the ceiling and fell to the floor.
Luca walked over, laughing. “At first, I couldn’t stand having Kiara in the house, but now I kind of enjoy it. She keeps things interesting”
“Why don’t you call someone to fix this bag instead of irritating me?” I snapped.
Luca grinned. “Sure, boss. By the way, I know someone you can take your anger out on. I was supposed to train with Liam. How about you take over! He could use a good beating”
“Maybe I’ll just hang you up and use you as the bag instead,” I said dryly.
Luca laughed and left. I stared at the broken bag for another second before turning to Liam, who stood with his arms crossed, glaring at me.
“Come on, kid. Let’s train”
Liam and 1 had never trained together, except for the playful fights we used to have when he was younger and still looked up to me. Now, all from him was attitude,
For a moment, he seemed like he’d refuse, but then he stood up, walking toward me with an annoying slouch. I tossed him my keys. “Cauch
He caught them, frowning. “You’re letting me drive?”
“Yeah. Now get moving”
His face lit up as he ran past me. A tiny smile twitched at my lips as I shook my head. Nothing made that kid happier than driving or racing, to be
exact.
Liam was already driving my bright green Lamborghini Aventador as I pulled into the driveway, smiling like he had just won the lottery. He cranked the engine and sped down the driveway as soon as I got in. I buckled up and said “Remember, there’s a gate at the end of this. With only an inch to spare on either side, Liam sped through the gate after pressing the button to unlock it. He sped through traffic like it was a race without slowing down. Homs blared, and a police car pulled out behind us, sirens wailing.
come on,” Liam groaned, pulling over reluctantly. The officer approached, hand resting on his gun, while his partner stayed back, watching,
“Oh
Liam rolled down the window.
Before the officer could speak, I leaned forward, resting my tattooed forearm on the dashboard. I gave him a cold smile. “We’re busy, Officer. Move along.”
The man froze, recognizing the tattoo, then my face. He quickly stepped back. “Sorry for the misunderstanding. Sate travels”

Chapter 17
I leaned back “Drive”
Liam looked at me with wide eyes before pulling back onto the road, driving slower this time but still too fast. When we reached the abandoned. casino we used as a gym, his excitement faded, replaced by his usual sulking.
I waited for him in the cage, watching as he took forever to get ready. When he finally joined me, I had to suppress my frustration. He shuffled into the cage, looking reluctant, but I could see he had grown. He was filling out, though he was still smaller than Damien, Luca, or me.
“Let’s go, kid. Show me what you’ve got.”
“Don’t call me ‘kid,” he grumbled
I smirked. “Make me. So far, all 1 see is a sulking child. His fists tightened, and his eyes narrowed. Good. That was more like it
“At least I don’t enjoy hurung girls,” he snapped. Ah, so that’s what was bothering him. “You don’t seem to enjoy doing anything with girls,” |
Ташие
His face turned red, and 1 had to hide my grin. “Have you even kissed a girl, Liam?” I asked, stepping closer.
He looked away, and I smirked. “Who was it? Someone from school? Or someone you paid?”
That did it. Anger flashed in his eyes, and he charged at me. His kick was well placed, but I blocked it easily. I punched his side not hard enough to hurt, but enough to throw him off. He didn’t back down, throwing punches with surprising determination.
As we sparred, I noticed him settling into a rhythm. He treated it like one of his video games, and for once, I enjoyed our session. When we did pause, we drank water while leaning against the cage and drenched in sweat. He whispered, I thought you’d really fight me.” “Don’t you think I’m useless?”
I lowered my water bottle. “What makes you think I held İsick?”
He
e snorted. “You’re the strongest fighter I know. I wouldn’t stand a chance”
“Not yet,” I said. “But maybe one day. And for the record, you’re not useless.”
He frowned. “I’ll never be like you, Damien, or Luca”
“I don’t want you to be like us. 1 want you to be a Russo and be proud of it
Liam stared at me for a moment before looking down at his bottle. “Can we go again?”
“Sure,” I said, though my mind was already drifting back to Milene.
“Don’t hold back as much this time,” Liam said.
I smirked, setting down my water. Sparring with Liam might not be so bad after all.
