Chapter 22
NICOLAS’S POV
A single kiss, but it left me wanting more. Kissing Milene was like trying a drug for the first time, it hooked me instantly. I couldn’t stop thinking about kissing her again, about taking more of her innocence.
The sound of approaching footsteps made me glance up. In his typical calm, watching manner. Damien approached me and took a seat across from me on the couch. “What’s going on?” he asked.
“I got a taste of Milene.” I said.
“You kissed her?” he asked with a surprised look on his face.
“Yeah, I admitted, “and it won’t be the last time.”
“How did she respond?”
“She didn’t fight me, if that’s what you mean,” I said quietly.
He frowned. “Tm not here to argue with you about Milene. It’s obvious you won’t listen to reason”
“So why are you here?” I asked.
“I believe we should talk to Liam now. His big day is tomorrow, and I want to make sure that everyone is in agreement.
I nodded. “Probably a good idea. Where is he?”
When he wasn’t gaming. Liam was usually upstairs either sulking or jerking off. Probably the latter, considering he wasn’t getting any real action.
“I’ve got something to make things easier for him.” I said
Damien raised an eyebrow. “Don’t tell me you got him a car”
I grinned. “He’s turning twenty so why not? At least then he’ll stop wrecking mine. Maybe he’ll take care of his own stuff.
“The legal driving age is twenty one here.” Damien reminded me.
“And drugs and killing people are illegal too. What’s your point?”
Damien shrugged. “He’ll get himself killed racing that thing. Are you going to talk to him about the drugs?”
“I’ll handle it. Go get him. We’ll take the car for a spin and have a chat.”
“Who’s going to watch over Kiara and Milene? Tate’s off dealing with some guy again.”
“I’ll call Tate. You find Liam,” I said. Damien headed upstairs while I called Tate. “What is it, Nicolas? I’m busy with someone right now.” “The answered.
“I need you at the house to keep an eye on Kiara and Milene. Damien and I are talking to Liam.”
“This about tomorrow?” Taie asked, and I could hear the sound of someone crying faintly in the background.
“Yeah. Be here fast”
“Fifteen minutes.” Tate said before hanging up.
I could hear Liam arguing with Damien up stairs and Damien’s calm, steady voice trying to calm him down. I grabbed the keys to Liam’s new car and moved to the entryway just as Damien came downstairs, looking annoyed. Liam followed him, sulking with his arms crossed like the kid he
Damien stopped beside me, his face showing clear disapproval. Liam paused at the bottom step, glaring at me.
“Stay calm.” Damien warned me quietly.
I grabbed Liam by the from of his shirt, pulling him closer. “You better lose the attitude, kid, or I’ll give you a reason to sulk.”
Liam got a stubborn look on his face and said. “Go ahead. Then I’ll refuse the tattoo tomorrow.”

Chapter 22
“Liam Damien warned.
I held his gaze, my grip tightening. Do you really think you’d survive without us?”
“I’ve got friends.” Liam muttered.
“Friends who only hang around because you give them free drugs. They don’t care about you. They will dismiss you if you are unable to continue supplying them.
Liam’s face paled. “Who told you?”
“Do you think I wouldn’t notice you’ve been stealing from us for months? Tate’s been keeping an eye on you?
“The punishment for stealing from the family is death,” Liam said angrily
I said. “It is, but not for you because you’re my brother and I care about you.”
Tate entered through the front entrance, his forearms still stained with blood, his shirt sleeves rolled up. Blood was never easy to wash off
Liam’s eyes widened. “What did you do?”
Tate nodded at Damien and me before looking at Liam.
“We had a chat with one of your useless friends.” I said.
“You killed him?” Liam asked, his voice trembling
Tate raised an eyebrow at me. I shook my head. “Not yet. But keep talking back at me and maybe I will, Liam,” I said angrily.
“Please Don’t hurt Harriett, Liam whispered.
1 frowned at the way he said her name. That girl from your junkie crowd?”
Tate frowned, “She was with Mason when I dealt with him. Let’s just say she was giving him a blow job.”
“You’re lying!” Liam broke free from my grip and charged at Tate, trying to throw a punch. Tate blocked him easily, shoving him against the wall
“Stop, Tate said firmly, for I won’t hold back next time
Liam pushed himself up again, his face flushed with anger. “What did you do to Harriett? Tate looked at me, waiting for my nod before continuing
“Nothing. I gave her some money and sent her away.“Tate said.
“She’s alive!” Liam asked, looking hopeful
“She and her boyfriend are alive. For now,” I said.
Liam looked at me, uncertain. “You spared them just so I’d go through with the tattoo tomorrow?
“That’s not the point,” I said. “You’re part of this family. Start acting like it
Damien came back with a drug test. “Let’s see how clean you really are,” he said. When the results came back positive and it confirmed that Liam was on drugs, I lost it. Crabbing Liam again, I pushed him to the ground. “How many times have I told you to stay away from that shit? You want to end up like the junkies on the street!”
Liam muttered something about using it to relax, but I ignored him, my frustration boiling over. “You touch that stuff again, and I’ll kill every one of yo
“I watch,”
