Chapter 25
NICOLAS’S POV
I stood outside Milene’s door, holding the handle so tightly my hand hurt. Part of me wanted to go back inside and push her limits even more with her brother nearby, but I stopped myself, I leaned my forehead on the door and took a big breath. That’s when Damien found me.
I saw him out of the corner of my eye, and even without looking, I knew he was studying me, “How did things go with Liam and Harriet?” I asked
I stood up, and as I expected. Damien was watching me with that calm, calculating look he always had. “Dante called. He’s losing patience and wants to speak with you again, Damien said.
“He won’t risk attacking us, not while I have Milene,” I replied.
Damien nodded. “Even so, it’s time we start making demands
“Maybe you’re right. Think of something outrageous that he won’t accept. Ask for a city like Indianapolis or Minneapolis. It really doesn’t matter to

Damien’s jaw tightened, showing his annoyance. “Alright. I’ll send
him the message.”
“Let him know Milene will have a video call with her brother tomorrow morning at eight. He’d better be ready.”
“Liam’s initiation starts at eleven, Damien reminded me,
“There’s enough time,” I said, then frowned. “What happened with Harriet”
“As expected, she was using Liam to get drugs. When he refused, she dropped him and admitted she was with someone else. Liam’s heartbroken. He takes things like this too personally.
“Is he angry?” I asked.
the guy, not her”
I smiled. “That’s enough. We need someone for Liam to deal with tomorrow. Tell Tate to bring Mason to the initiation.”
Damien thought about it. It might work. Jealousy and heartbreak are good reasons for violence”
“Where’s Liam now?” I asked.
“Outside, smoking. I let him have one cigarette.”
“I’ll go talk to him” Damien said
“He’s not in the best state to talk”
“Neither am L
“That’s the problem,” Damien said with a smirk.
“Go spend time with your wife and leave me alone,” I said, brushing past hirn.
“You haven’t gone to the Strip club since Milene arrived,” Damien called after me.
I sighed. “Maybe I’m not in the mood. I’m taking a break.”
“You’ve never taken a break,” he said.
“Stop analyzing everything, Damien,” I snapped and walked away before I get angry and decide to punch him.
I found Liam sitting by the pool, staring into the dark. He held a cigarette that glowed faintly When I sat down beside him, he didn’t even bother to give me a glance. It was everything I could do not to seize the cigarette from him as he took a long drag.
“I hate it,” he grumbled.
“Hair what?” I asked.
“Hate that people only care about me because my last name is Russo and what I can give them.”
Chapter 25
“You shouldn’t have tried to make friends by giving them drugs,” I said. “We sell them, not give them away, and we never use them ourselves.”
“When will someone like me for who I am and because I’m related to you?” he asked, his voice low,
“You’ve got people who care about you.” I said, my voice rough Liam gave me a surprised look
“What do you think I’d do to anyone else who did that? The cars you’ve wrecked and the drugs you’ve stolen and given to your crack head friends have cost me millions.
“You’d kill them, without a second thought” Liam whispered.
“Exactly,” I said. “But you’re still breathing, and you’ll stay safe as long as I’m alive.”
Liam lowered his head. “You’ll accept the tattoo and the oath tomorrow.” I said with a stern voice. “I don’t give a damn about the family” he grumbled. I became angry and before I could react he added, “But I’ll swear loyalty to you. Even if I hate what you, Damien, and Luca do, you’re my family.”
“Don’t waste your time thinking about that girl, I said, giving him a stern look. She’s not worth it. There are many other girls who you can date and who will genuinely love you. Harriet used your feelings for her to manipulate you into supplying her drugs to feed her addiction.
Liam frowned. He swallowed hard and said “I can’t help how I feel. “She lied to me and said she was in love with me, but she was actually sleeping with him the entire time.”
“So what? You had her. He had her. Move on,” I said bluntly.
“I didn’t,” Liam admitted quietly. “We never w
never went that far.”
“Tell me she at least gave you a blow job,” I muttered.
Liam’s face turned red. I leaned back with a sigh.
“Can I ask you something?” he said softly.
Thad a feeling this was a talk I didn’t want to have.
“What is it”
“How long does it take to have control?”
“Control!” I asked, confused.
“To hold back.” he said, looking away. “I couldn’t.”
“You mean you finished too while getting a blow job,” I said bluntly.
Liam winced and nodded. “Yeah.”
I laughed.
Liam scowled. “Don’t make fun of me.” “I’m not,” I said.
“You’ve never been with a girl so It’s quite normal.”
“Did it happen to you?” he asked.
“No, but I was angry, and that gave me control,” I said.
“She probably laughed at me,” he said quietly. “I want to kill him. Mason”
“I know.
Liam’s eyes
widened. “You’re going to make me kill him tono
“You have to kill someone tomorrow, in front of everyone. It’s either him or a stranger. Mason’s dead either way. He can die by your hand or Tate’s
Liam bit his lip as he stared at the water. He said, “I’ll do it” He didn’t pull away when I put a hand on his shoulder for once.
