Chapter 8
MILENE’S POV
Nicolas’s dark eyes moved slowly over my face, my hair, and my arms stretched above my head. He leaned closer, his cruel expression nearly identical to mine. He stopped when our noses were almost touching. His eyes weren’t black, but the deepest brown I had ever seen. He looked straight at me, and I held his gaze. I refused to look away. I wanted him to see the real me, not a weakness, not a tool, but a person.
“Not like this, Milene, he said. His voice was low and smooth, almost hypnotizing. But it was his eyes that held me still. “Not on a dirty like a cheap whore.” His smile was worse than any threat,
v mattress
He lowered his mouth until his lips barely brushed against mine. The soft touch sent a jolt through me. This is only the beginning. You are not a pawn in my game. You are the queen.” He stood up straight, releasing me. His knife gleamed as he held it before sliding it back into its sheath
“And what does that make you?” I asked, my voice sharp as 1 lay still on the mattress.
“I’m the king
“You aren’t unstoppable”
His eyes looked over me again before meeting my eyes. “We’ll see. He slid the knife away. “Now take off that dress. You won’t need it.”
I pushed myself up. “I won’t undress in front of you “Nicolas laughed softly. “This is going to be interesting. He waited, and I didn’t look away. “The knife it is, then,” he said with a careless shinig.
“No.” I said firmly. I struggled to my feet and stared at him angrily. Reaching behind me, I pulled down the zipper with a loud hiss. I didn’t take my eyes off him as I tugged at the dress until it fell to the ground.
“White and gold, like an angel,” Nicolas said darkly, his eyes taking in every inch of me. I couldn’t stop my face from blushing as his eyes looked over my body. I had never been seen like this before. Dressed in just a white garter, lace panties, and a corset, my skin shivered with goosebumps
under his stare.
He moved closer, and I froze. He stopped in front of me, his dark eyes scanning my face. Slowly, he raised a hand, and I tensed. A small smile played at the comer of his mouth. His thumb brushed gently across my cheek. I flinched away, and his smile widened.
u like this.”
“Shy innocence, how charming,” Nicolas said, mocking me. “Don’t worry, Angel. I won’t tell anyone I’m the first man to see you
My anger boiled as I fought back tears of shame and frustration. He bent down to pick up the dress. “Step out of it,” he ordered. I quickly stepped back, away from the fabric, and he straightened, holding the stained dress under his arm.
He studied me carefully. “You’re stunning to look at. I bet Daniel would’ve lost his mind just from seeing you like this. I can’t imagine how he feels now, knowing I’ve taken what he wanted. He’ll never have what he was promised.”
I shook my head firmly. “No matter what you take, it will never compare to what I would have given him. I would have offered him everything willingly, body and soul. That’s something you’ll never have. All you’ll get is the second best prize, Nicolas
He took a slow step back, his expression unreadable. “You should take a shower, Milene. One of the women will bring you fresh clothes”
As soon as he left, the breath rushed from my lungs. I wrapped my arms around myself, shaking, trying to stay strong. It had taken all my courage to face Nicolas, and now the emotions crashed over me. I stiffened when I remembered the camera. But then I decided it didn’t matter. Nicolas already knew I was scared of him. My act of bravery wasn’t fooling him.
