Freya had good eloquence. The way she spoke made it seem like Jazlyn was the one who had exposed her pregnancy.

“Hmph, it’s good that you understand. Our family only recognizes Jazlyn as the daughter–in–law. We won’t let someone like you ruin the Zinn family’s reputation. You should get rid of that child yourself!”

“Grandma!” Kingsley spun around, his glare at Jazlyn sharp and angry, cutting off Vanessa Bowen’s words.

As soon as he appeared, Freya, looking like she was on the verge of collapsing from anxiety, stumbled into his arms.

Kingsley quickly shielded her behind him and turned his attention to Vanessa, who was now fuming with rage.

“The child can’t be harmed. Her health is fragile. If she loses this child, she won’t be able to get pregnant again. The child has to be protected. As for Jazlyn, she’s already agreed to the divorce. We’ve been together for three years, but our personalities never matched. We were never,right for each other. Right, Jazlyn?”

He shot a threatening look at Jazlyn as if to say that if she disagreed, she would regret it.

Jazlyn forced a bitter smile as she met the contemptuous, mocking glares from the Zinns.

“Yes, Kingsley said he’d give me 50 million as compensation for a peaceful divorce. It’s to make up for the years I’ve lost and to make sure I never reveal Ms. Quinlan’s affair to protect the Zinns‘ reputation. I’ve agreed to it. Right, Kingsley?”

Her sweet, innocent smile met Kingsley’s grim face, and her sincerity only seemed to make him angrier.

She had added an extra 20 million to the compensation–he had only agreed to 30 million before, not 50 million.

Was she trying to force him to agree to a higher amount?
