Chapter 13 Fainting
Kingsley dragged Jazlyn out with no care for her protest.
Her head was spinning as she groaned, “What are you doing?”
“Is this your plan–to cause chaos in the Zinns
Kingsley shoved her roughly against the wall.
SO
you
can get more money?” he snapped.
Jazlyn was already struggling to stay upright. With that push, she was on the edge of collapsing.
It was clear Kingsley hadn’t maybe he just didn’t care.

Jazlyn thought back to everything that had happened earlier, and Freya’s pitiful performance suddenly made sense. It was all a setup. Stirring up chaos in the Zinns would only speed up the divorce and pin the blame entirely on her.
But what was the point of explaining? Kingsley would
Dever believe her:
“You’re so clever, aren’t you? You’ve figured me out. My scheming hasn’t rusted yet, right? You know how desperate I am. My family’s broke, and I need money. When I’m that desperate, marriage, pride, even men–they’re all worthless. So, your family might end up paying me 60 million. Want to raise the stakes?”
“You-”
“Oh, and by the way, your grandfather isn’t here. You know how much he dotes on me. If he finds out you’re treating me like this, do you think he’ll still let you get that divorce?”
Kingsley’s grip tightened around her arm.
“What’s the point of holding me so tight? Let go of me. Otherwise, I’ll truly make a fuss and go straight to Old Mr. Zinn. Then you’ll be the one in trouble.”
For a brief moment, Kingsley hesitated, his heart skipping a beat.
“You crazy woman!” he spat and shoved her hand away, his voice dripping with disgust.
“Just thinking about the fact that I once shared a bed with someone like you makes me sick–like I’ve swallowed garbage.”
His cruel words cut through the air, and though Jazlyn’s heart had already grown cold, a dull ache still surfaced.
She tried to steady herself against the wall, but her body gave way. She staggered and crumpled to the ground.
“Jazlyn?”
Kingsley instinctively reached out, catching her before she hit the ground.
Her frail body felt almost weightless in his arms, far weaker than he had expected. He frowned in surprise. “What’s wrong with you? Stop acting!”
But Jazlyn didn’t respond.
A sudden wave of unease hit him. Without wasting another moment, he picked her up and rushed straight to the hospital.
When they arrived, the doctor sighed in frustration. “This lady again? I already told her this morning to rest and not leave the bed because of her fever, but she wouldn’t listen. And you–who exactly are you? How could you let her run around in this state?”
Kingsley’s face darkened with confusion. “What’s wrong with her? What illness is she suffering from?”

Her eyes were red and puffy from crying. She looked at Jazlyn lying unconscious on the bed and spoke softly, her voice trembling, “I think she still loves you, Kingsley. Maybe it’s better if we end this. Your family doesn’t approve of me. I’ll figure out what to do with the baby.”
“What nonsense are you talking about?” Kingsley cut her off immediately, his tone sharp and disbelieving.
