Chapter 23 Intimately Connected
Jazlyn almost felt sick from all the drama.
Linda, on the other hand, looked utterly grim.
Jazlyn was doing this on purpose to provoke them.
Seeing Jazlyn’s arm draped around Kingsley’s neck only fueled their jealousy.

Though they had caught distant glimpses of Kingsley before, this was their first time seeing him so close–and so intimately connected with someone.
Kingsley’s eyes flashed with a sharp, dangerous intensity as he glanced at Jazlyn. She felt a jolt of apprehension but, having said everything she wanted, stood her ground without the slightest hint of retreat.
His gaze darkened further, a storm of anger brewing in his eyes as he shifted his icy stare toward Linda and her group.
Wherever his eyes landed, a chill seemed to follow, sending shivers down their spines.
Kingsley’s voice was calm yet cutting as he turned to the restaurant manager. “Were you the one who ordered these people to throw Jazlyn out?”
The manager hurriedly replied, “No! I didn’t realize this lady was your wife…

“You don’t need to explain yourself to me.” Kingsley’s sharp tone cut him off, leaving the manager pale.
Instead, Kingsley looked at Jazlyn.
The manager, catching on, immediately bowed his head and stammered an apology, “Ms. Xander, I’m so sorry. We didn’t know who you were. Please forgive our ignorance.”
Jazlyn glanced at the manager, who was now drenched in cold sweat and a far cry from his earlier arrogance. Her lips curved into a smirk, but she kept her chin high. “An apology alone won’t cut it.”
The manager froze, unsure what to do.
Kingsley’s narrowed eyes bore into him, turning the pressure up another notch.
Scrambling to please, the manager blurted, “Tonight’s meal is on the house–entirely complimentary for you, Ms. Xander!”
Jazlyn let out a cold laugh. “That’s it? Is that all you’ve got?”
The manager’s back was soaked with fear, and his mind raced for a solution. Seeing Jazlyn still dissatisfied, he quickly added, “From now on, every time you dine at Frostwind Garden, all your meals will be on us–no exceptions!”
Jazlyn’s gaze then drifted toward Linda, whose face had turned ghostly pale.
“And what about these people who ruined my evening?” Jazlyn asked, her voice dripping with disdain.
The manager slapped his forehead as if realizing his oversight. “You’re right! I can’t believe I forgot about them. Security, what are you waiting for? Get these troublemakers out of here!”
The guards, stunned by the sudden shift in tone, quickly surrounded Linda and her entourage.
“What are you doing?” Linda shrieked.
“This has nothing to do with us! We were just tagging along with Linda!” one of the women blurted.
“Yeah it’s all I inda’s doing!” another chimed in eager to deflect blame

But what infuriated her even more was the restaurant’s stance.
“I’m one of your VIP customers! How dare you treat me like this?” Linda snapped, her voice shaking with rage.
The manager laughed coldly. “We don’t need your money. I’ll refund every cent you’ve ever spent here. And listen up. everyone–starting today, these people are blacklisted. None of them are allowed back in Frostwind Carden. Ever”
What?
Linda clenched her teeth in fury.
But before she could argue further, the guards began shoving her and the others out.
“Don’t touch me!”
“I can walk on my own!”
The group stumbled and scrambled as they were forced out of the restaurant.
Linda, wearing impossibly high heels, tripped on the steps and tumbled to the ground in an undignified heap. She rolled once before coming to a stop, swearing under her breath.
“Jazlyn, just you wait!” she screamed venomously from the ground, glaring back at the restaurant before stomping off.
