Chapter 24 Stunning
Jazlyn married an old man, didn’t she? How could he turn out to be Kingsley?
And Kingsley isn’t blind–why would he be interested in someone like Jazlyn?
Linda couldn’t accept it. She was frustrated, envious, and full of disbelief. There had to be some shady reason behind this; there was no way Jazlyn had genuinely married Kingsley.
Once the troublemakers were gone, the manager hurried over with a bow, addressing the two of them deferentially. “Mr. Zinn, Mrs. Zinn, everything has been resolved. I’ll leave you two to enjoy your evening.”
Jazlyn nodded in acknowledgment, finally letting go of Kingsley’s arm.
But the next second, her wrist was seized in a tight grip.
To everyone’s shock, Kingsley grabbed Jazlyn and pulled her straight out of the restaurant.
“Let go of me, Kingsley! What are you doing?” Jazlyn shouted.
Once outside, Kingsley released her, his cold gaze locking onto hers. “Are you satisfied now?”
Jazlyn rubbed her wrist, which was still throbbing from his grip. “More or less.”
“You …”
Kingsley was nearly shaking with anger. Watching Jazlyn so casually exploit him left him fuming.
“You dared to threaten me? Do you even realize the consequences of what you’ve done?”
Jazlyn raised her chin and met his gaze. “Which part of what I said wasn’t true? I am still your wife. If word got out that I was being bullied in public, wouldn’t that make you look bad?”
“You did that on purpose!”
She had to be intentionally picking a fight. She’d never acted this way before.
“On purpose? Oh, please. My only regret is not realizing sooner how useful the title ‘Mrs. Zinn‘ could be. If I’d known earlier that invoking it could solve so many problems, I would’ve used it more often. Too bad we’re about to get divorced. I only have a few days left to milk this.”
Jazlyn gave Kingsley an innocent look. “What’s wrong? Don’t tell me you’re so petty that you won’t let me use it for a little longer?”
Kingsley was momentarily speechless.
As Jazlyn turned away with a smug smile, Kingsley grabbed her by the shoulders and pushed her against the wall behind her. Her back hit the hard surface, making her wince as she looked up at him with a frown. “Kingsley, have you lost your mind?”
“This is the last time. If it happens again, you’ll face the consequences,” he said, his deep voice laced with fury. His dark eyes burned with a simmering rage, a warning she could not ignore.
Jazlyn’s heart skipped a beat, but she laughed mockingly.
They were getting divorced, and he couldn’t even bring himself to help her out without a lecture.
If it had been Freva in her place Kingsley would’ve torn I inda and her nosse anart without hesitation

Then Jazlyn smirked, her gaze turning provocative. “What’s this? We’re getting divorced, yet you’re standing so close. Kingsley, don’t tell me you’re having second thoughts. Trying to seduce me now?”
Her slender, pale finger lightly traced a line down his chest.
Kingsley stiffened, his body betraying him with a shiver.

When his eyes met Jazlyn’s teasing gaze, his throat felt dry. It was as though a jolt of electricity had surged through him, leaving him utterly disoriented.
Jazlyn was wearing a simple crew–neck T–shirt, the neckline dipping low enough to reveal the soft curve of her skin.
The two of them were so close that the slightest movement brought them into contact.
Kingsley suddenly became hyper–aware of her figure. He couldn’t recall ever noticing before. And her curves seemed more prominent now.
What the hell am I even thinking?
Anger surged through him, and he abruptly released her, turning away in frustration.
Jazlyn looked at him, puzzled.
What’s his deal? All I did was touch him, and now he’s upset?
“Kingsley, seriously? It’s just a little touch. I’ve touched you plenty before! Remember when you were drunk? I had to clean you up. I’ve seen every inch of you, so don’t act so high and mighty now,” she said, her tone dripping with sarcasm.
“Jazlyn, enough!”
D*mn it!
Kingsley spun around, his eyes blazing with anger.
Jazlyn blinked, startled by the sheer intensity of his rage.
She’d never seen him this mad before.
Sensing she might’ve pushed too far, Jazlyn wisely closed her mouth. It was time to stop while she was ahead.
Jazlyn knew that since Kingsley was keeping his distance from other women for Freya’s sake, she had no reason to argue.
Feeling a wave of irritation, Kingsley glared at Jazlyn fiercely before striding down the steps and leaving.
Jazlyn shrugged, baffled by his behavior.
Just then…
“Jazlyn!”
Emily’s excited voice called from behind.
She rushed over, grabbing Jazlyn’s shoulders and shaking her. “What’s going on? Kingsley is your husband?”
Jazlyn had completely forgotten about Emily in the chaos earlier.
Emily had been holding herself back for a while.

If Kingsley was considered average, then what did that make the rest of the men in the world?

Jazlyn, seeing Emily’s exaggerated expression, could only sigh and rub her forehead. “Erm… I’m sorry I didn’t tell you the truth before. I just didn’t know how to explain it. But honestly, whatever Kingsley and I were, we’re getting divorced soon, so it doesn’t even matter anymore.”
“But how did you two even end up together? You’ve kept this hidden from me for three whole years!”
Jazlyn replied, “Let’s go inside and talk about it.
Now that Frostwind Garden had offered them everything for free, it would be a waste not to enjoy it.
After what had just happened, the staff treated Jazlyn and Emily completely differently–showing them nothing but respect and enthusiasm.
Emily couldn’t help but marvel. “The world of the wealthy is something else. The staff here are usually so cold to us!”
As Jazlyn recounted her story with Kingsley, Emily slapped the table in outrage. “I can’t believe Kingsley turned out to be such a jerk! I didn’t see that coming.”
Jazlyn sighed. “It’s my fault for overestimating myself and insisting on marrying him.”
Hearing Jazlyn’s regret, Emily quickly softened and comforted her. “It’s okay, I get it. Who wouldn’t be tempted by a rich and handsome man like him? Seeing him on TV didn’t do him justice–he’s even more stunning in person.”
But realizing what she’d said, Emily immediately shook her head. “Still, he’s a sc*mbag! The fact that he had a child with another woman is unforgivable. Forget it, Jazlyn. You’ve been with him for three years; you didn’t come out empty–handed.”
Jazlyn couldn’t help but laugh.
Emily wasn’t entirely wrong.
“Shouldn’t we celebrate?” Emily suggested. “You’ve slept with Kingsley, after all. That deserves a toast!”
Celebrate…
Jazlyn instinctively glanced at her abdomen and quickly declined. “Let’s skip the drinks. I still have work to do, and I can’t risk getting drunk.”
“Alright, if you insist.”
Later, Jazlyn got a call from Noah.
“Why did you leave without the operation?”
I’m not going through with it. The hospital made a mistake–I’m not pregnant.”
“What? The hospital messed up like that?”
“Forget it. Anyway, Noah, can you help me find a place to stay? I’m getting divorced and might not have anywhere to live…
“Of course! There’s a place for rent near my office. It’s close to both work and my home, so it’s perfect for you.
“Thank you, Noah.”
The next day. Jazlyn stopped by Noah’s office first.
“Did you hear about the new designer who just showed up out of nowhere?”
“Yeah, I heard she’s Mr. Lloyd’s lover. I saw her go into his office, and she’s pretty.”

He handed her some documents. “The client for your last project loved your draft. They’ve already paid the deposit and agreed to have you handle the rest of the design. Here’s the contract for you to review.”
Jazlyn hesitated. “I can’t sign using my name right now. Can we use the company’s name instead?”
She still hadn’t completely severed ties with Kingsley, and as long as she remained Mrs. Zinn, her identity could cause complications. All she wanted was a clean divorce.
“Of course, no problem. I’ll review the contract for you.”
“Thank you so much, Noah,” Jazlyn said sincerely.
“Don’t mention it. Honestly, you should’ve come to me sooner. Then you wouldn’t have had to marry someone like him.”
