Although Kingsley appeared indifferent, he was actually a shrewd strategist when it came to business. Zaid trusted his insight.
After a moment of thought, Kingsley lifted his gaze. “We can’t be certain yet that she’s the one, so don’t get too excited just yet. But you’re right–we should find a time to discuss it.”
Just then, his phone rang.
Seeing it was his grandfather, Thomas Zinn, Kingsley let out a sigh before answering the call with a touch of impatience.
“It’s been a while since you and Jazlyn visited. When are you planning to see me?” His grandfather’s voice came through.
The elderly man asked about Jazlyn.
“Been busy,” Kingsley replied.
“Busy? Do I need to personally come to your office and invite you before you show up?”
Thomas‘ tone grew icy.
Kingsley sighed and said, ‘I’ll come by tonight.”
Jazlyn still had the medication from the hospital to prevent a miscarriage.
Despite losing so much blood, the baby survived. Jazlyn gently placed her hand on her stomach.
Seeing how strong the baby was, she couldn’t bring herself to terminate the pregnancy again. Maybe this was fate…
But she was certain that Kingsley could never find out about the baby. Who knew what he might do to the child in order to be with Freya?
At that moment, Jazlyn noticed Kingsley was calling.
Her heart skipped a beat, but she quickly regained her composure before picking up.
“Grandpa wants us to go back tonight.”
“What?”
It was unexpected, but Jazlyn quickly agreed nonetheless.
Thomas was probably the only one in the Zinn family who truly cared for her. The rest of them looked down on her, believing she wasn’t worthy of Kingsley. Only Thomas had always shown genuine kindness.
She often felt guilty toward him. He longed for a great–grandchild, but she couldn’t make that happen.
And now …
She was carrying his great–grandchild, but she couldn’t bring herself to tell him.
As Kingsley was about to leave, he spotted Ereya walking toward him.
“Kingsley, do you have plans tonight?”
“No… Kingsley hesitated, unsure how to answer. He knew that Thomas had never liked Freya, something she was sensitive about ‘Grandpa wants me to go back.”
Freya hesitated for a moment before asking, “Are you going back to be convinced not to divorce?”

Kingsley glanced at Freya’s growing belly, hesitating for a moment.
Atterbrief silence, he finally nodded. “Okay.”
