Hmph Thomas muttered with a bitter laugh. “You took my money, promised to leave Kingsley, and now you come back saying you miss me?”
Freya felt a sudden jolt in her chest.
She could only turn away, feeling deeply wronged With a sorrowful look at Kingsley, tears brimming, in fier eyes, she spoke, “Grandpa. I’ve already explained everything to Kingsley. I never used a single penny of the money you gave me. I know you! don’t like me, and that hurts. I took your money just to put your mind at ease. I was young and naive back then, but all these years, I’ve never stopped loving Kingsley. That’s why I couldn’t stop myself from returning to Seaville. Luckily, Kingsley still cares about me”
“That’s enough
Thomas waved his hand dismissively. “Save this for those who are truly gullible. A woman with any sense should know when a man is already married and stay away
Freya nearly choked on her anger.

Jazlyn couldn’t help but silently cheer him on.
Thomas was sharp, seeing through everything with a clarity that outshone anyone else.
He’s a pro at identifying wolves in sheep’s clothing!
Her gaze shifted to Kingsley again
Jazlyn glanced at him and shook her head inwardly,
He’s just blind.
Freya felt even more uneasy.
“Grandpa… it’s my fault. I love Kingsley too much. I didn’t want things to end up like this, but… I’m pregnant….
As she spoke, two delicate tears fell from her
eyes.
Jazlyn watched her, inwardly sighing with resignation.
Of course, what man could resist a woman with such impressive acting skills?
“Grandpa, Ms. Quinlan isn’t feeling well. Could you please speak to her gently? If something happens to her now, it will be our fault…”
She grasped Thomas’s arm as she spoke.
Thomas quickly grasped the situation. “Kight, right. We’d be responsible if anything happened… Alright, let’s not dwell on it. Come in, don’t stand there.
Freya shot a resentful glance at Jazlyn, who was guiding Thomas inside.
It was truly frustrating!
Kingsley finally reached his breaking point.
“Freya, go inside and rest, he said.
He made sure Freya was settled in the living room before stepping forward to pull Thomas aside, his brow furrowed. “Grandpa, can you please be a bit kinder to Freya? The child she’s carrying is your great–grandchild. Are you really okay if

“You…”
“Grandpa, Kingsley is right. The child hasn’t done anything wrong. Please, let it go.”
Noticing Jazlyn’s pleading expression, Thomas let out a deep sigh. “It’s not like you’re the one who gave birth. Fine, I won’t say anything else to her.”
“Good, that’s the thoughtful and well–mannered Grandpa I know. I’ll make you something tasty later,” Jazlyn said with a smile.
Kingsley watched the two of them getting along so well, a frown darkening his face.
All his talking was pointless, yet Jazlyn managed to get Thomas to agree with a simple sentence.
Kingsley drew in a deep breath, forced his frustration down, and left with a dark expression.
Freya tightened her fists, silently enduring her emotions.
Coming here hadn’t gone the way she had imagined. She hadn’t expected Thomas‘ opinion of her to be so negative because of what happened in the past.
Still, it didn’t matter–she could find a way to make things right.
When Thomas and Jazlyn returned, Freya quickly stood and spoke gently, “Grandpa, I truly want to show you how much I care. I know you love meatballs, so I took the time to learn how to prepare them. I’d love to make some for you. Would you like to try them?”
