Chapter 13
Moments later, a photo of a messy bed appeared on Stefan’s screen. His eyes widened in rage
“So it was you… It’s been you all along!”
Stefan’s voice was icy. His entire presence seemed to demand submission, suffocating all in its wake.
He typed out a message, “Juliette, I remember warning you never to let Lyssa find out about anything between us!”
Upon receiving the text, Juliette smirked smugly before calling him and taunting him, her tone laced with mockery.
“Alyssa, since when did you learn to mimic Stefan’s tone? And, I must say, you’re surprisingly convincing
“If I were you, I’d have already stepped down from being Mrs. Splenstone. I’m carrying Stelan’s child now. It’s only a matter of time before he proposes
“And when that day comes, guess who’ll be the one getting thrown out with nothing? That’s right; it’s you. If you don’t want it to end like that, why not just step aside gracefully now? At least you’d suffer less humiliation.
“Better that than being left with nothing but his hatred.”
Juliette’s confidence grew with every word, her voice dripping with triumph.
However, noticing the silence on the other end of the line, she started to feel uneasy,
She quickly shoved it aside and continued, “What’s the matter, Alyssa? Have I broken you so completely that you can’t even speak? Like I said before, Stefan loves me. He’s only ever put on a show for you. He doesn’t care about you at all.”
The next moment, Stefan’s voice rang out, cutting through Juliette’s arrogance. “Oh, really? And who exactly do you think you are, daring to provoke Lyssa? You must’ve mistaken my leniency for weakness if you think I’ll tolerate your nonsense.
“Now, speak! What have you said to Lyssa that you shouldn’t have?”
Stefan’s voice was chilling to the bone. Each word pounded like a hammer against Juliette’s heart.
She was doomed this time.
Juliette’s entire body trembled. She could barely keep hold of her phone.
No, this couldn’t be happening. She still carried Stefan’s child–surely, he wouldn’t dare do anything to her
Her confidence returned in an instant as she clung to that thought.
Tears streamed down her face on cue, and her voice took on a pitiful, trembling tone. “Stefan, L… I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to Mrs. Splenstone insulted me first! I was just defending myself.
“It’s my fault, I know. I was wrong. Please don’t be like this. I’m really scared.”
Juliette tried to act submissive again, mimicking her previous behavior toward Stefan. She spoke through sobs, her voice trembling as if she were the most wronged and fragile person in the world.
But this time, Stelan had no patience for her act.
“Enough. If you won’t tell the truth, I’ll find out myself!”
Without giving her a chance to explain, Stefan decisively hung up the phone.
Then, he ordered someone to take Juliette’s phone from her. It was done before she could erase or forge her messages.
As Stefan opened the phone and went straight to the messages, he saw that Juliette had sent Alyssa countless provocative photos and insults in just the past two weeks.
The vile images and words filled him with such rage and shock that his vision turned dark, his mind thundering with the overwhelming realization. What had he and Juliette been doing all this time?
Just imagining things from Alyssa’s perspective nearly suffocated him. He couldn’t bear to think about how she had endured this.
II Alyssa had done the same thing, he might have lost his mind long 450.
Stefan’s face turned pale, his heart breaking with a pain too deep for words.
Time seemed to stretch on as he tried to compose himself. When he finally did, his expression had turned terrifyingly cold. The atmosphere around him radiated a deadly, dangerous tension
