Arthur spent the next two months in a drunken stupor. Then, he started leaving the house more often before returning home, looking exhausted.
My soul was getting weaker, and I couldn’t withstand direct sunlight. I had no idea what he did whenever he went out.
Late one night, he suddenly left the house. I followed him to a gravestone in a cemetery. My photo was on it, and I saw the words engraved on it. “Here lies Leona Barton, wife to Ian White.”
Only then did I realize Arthur had been searching for my grave. He and I were equally stunned when we saw the engraving on the gravestone.
Arthur was furious, but I only felt bitter. There hadn’t been anything between Ian and I–we both knew there was no chance of us being together, so we’d buried our feelings for each other deep in our hearts.

I was anxious as I watched him. I hated him now. He could’ve given me a home when I was alive, but he hadn’t. Now, I was dead, yet he refused to let me rest in peace!
I hammered his back in anger, but he couldn’t feel it. My hand went right through his body. I’d been a coward in life and hadn’t gotten the chance to decide on my death. Now that I was dead, there was even less that I could do.
“You’re a bastard, Arthur!” Ian appeared from nowhere and punched Arthur in the face. His eyes were bloodshot, and he had dark eye circles. It was clear he hadn’t been resting well lately.
“Let me go! What gives you the right to tell people Leona’s your wife? She’s mine, even in death!” Arthur barked. Blood trickled from the corner of his lip, but he stood tall, his gaze resolute.
Han sneered. “Because you don’t deserve her!”
I grew bored after watching them duke it out for a while, so I sat on the collapsed
