After Cason retired early, he handed over full control of the company to Fernando, who ruthlessly used one dark method after another to harvest his competitors without any mercy.
This time we were kidnapped, all thanks to Fernando.
The so–called “no poison, no husband“, but Fernando’s poison in the market was extremely ruthless, monopolizing extensively, and causing great suffering to the shareholders.
He avoided eye contact and gave Cason the answer through silence.
“You should leave room for yourself when dealing with others. The Vaughan family is a prominent one, and it’s not meant for you to tarnish our reputation like this. You are almost destroying the good name that our ancestors have built up.”
Cason gritted his teeth, filled with deep regret.
Fernando lifted his chin, not believing that he was wrong.
“This wasn’t taught by Mom, the methods aren’t ruthless, and the position isn’t stable,” Nicole glared, “What did I teach you? How did it become my fault again?”
“You covered up Hailee’s plagiarism of Emelia’s design, using any means necessary to advance yourself. Those honors should have rightfully belonged to Emelia, but I was just following suit.”
“Damn it!” Nicole exclaimed angrily. She had lived a blameless life and had never had any blemishes.
“This little bitch whispers in your ear, and you believe her. For her, you dare to slander your wife and even your own mother?”
“Isn’t it? That was when Emelia spent three days and nights drawing the sketches, and she even showed me her first draft.”
My voice was damaged, and my best friend spoke for me.
“Where did she get the first draft from? When Hailee was drawing, I brought her coffee for three days. I still have the time recorded on my phone when she made the initial draft. Moreover, the studio has cameras. If Mr. Vaughan bothers to check, he would know that
there is no smoke without fire.”
Emelia instantly blushed and felt too embarrassed to argue.
“See it for yourself.”
Nicole directly sent him the surveillance footage from the studio back then and glanced at Emelia, “I kept many backups just in case certain people spread rumors and cause trouble in the future.”
Fernando finished reading and, although he still protected her, his face clearly began to waver.
“Even if… even if that was Hailee’s original idea, how do you explain the fact that she intentionally had someone secretly send me an envelope, deceiving me into thinking Emelia was dead, all for the sake of marrying me?”
Originally, Fernando fell in love with me at first sight because I resembled his ‘deceased‘ white moonlight.
I finally understood why he was so eager to marry me. But I had never sent him any letters, and I didn’t even know about Emelia’s existence before she went back to her country.
Cason suddenly spoke, “That was me who sent it to you. Do you know what she used to do before?”
“Dad, don’t slander Emelia. I have known her for so many years, and I know how kind–hearted she is.”
Nicole sneered, “Still kind? She was doing immortal dances with her own uncle at such a young age. If it weren’t for meeting you, she wouldn’t have turned over a new leaf. She just used the seductive tricks that once lured people on you.”
Emelia’s prestigious educational background was also fabricated. With her limited knowledge and cultural level, how dare she accuse Hailee of plagiarizing her? She barely has a grasp of the basic principles of sketching
Emelia’s true face was completely exposed, and her face instantly turned pale, leaving her feeling utterly ashamed.
Fernando couldn’t believe his eyes as he looked at her.
Emelia, with tears welling up in her eyes, grabbed onto the cuff of his suit, wanting to explain.
Chapter 5
“Fernando, things were not like that… 1, I didn’t want to be born into such a family either.”
She tried to argue and tried to play the victim to gain sympathy.
Nicole, who had seen many hypocritical women like her, sarcastically said, “It’s not like you’re the only one with a bad background. Hailee grew up in an orphanage and didn’t engage in dirty money–making like you did. I never expected that out of the hundreds of underprivileged students sponsored by the Vaughan family, you would be one of them! Instead of using the money to study, you spent it all on designer clothes to attract wealthy people and even became a gold digger.”
