The man beside her just listened quietly, probably aware of Helen’s tricks of approaching other men for money.
I noticed the corner of a tattoo peeking out from his sleeve.
“You guys really have guts. Looks like he lost a lot of money on stocks,” she said, seemingly blaming us for Rick’s stock losses.
Jason and I looked at each other, but didn’t say anything.
Helen finished paying and left, carrying a large shopping bag and following the man.
