Chapter 18
No one could put a broken mirror back together or collect spilled water.
“Grace…”
Antonio’s expression was grim. His eyes were filled with sorrow. It was a stark contrast to what he used to be.
But Grace didn’t pause. “Sorry, my fiancé is waiting.”
With that, she walked over to Jeffrey, took his hand gently, and they left together.
“Sorry, I used you.”
Once in the garden, she let his hand go.
“I’m glad to be used by you.”
Jeffrey stood there with a refined grace. His soft smile made him look like. a walking work of art.
Grace quickly looked away. “I’ve got some stuff to do, so I’ll head in. Take your time, and I’d love to hear what you think.”
“Sure.”
The day after her gallery’s opening, Grace wanted to dodge Antonio, so she drove to the spa hotel by herself.
The hotel was up on a mountain, with hardly anyone around. It was the perfect place for her to have some quiet time and think about her travel plans.

Chapter 18
But as she was leaving, she ran into a landslide. Her car got washed down the mountain in a mudslide, and she was stuck in her seat.
She tried to call for help, but her phone was busted from the crash.
Grace leaned back, eyes closed in despair.
She managed to escape Lucile’s schemes, but in the end, she couldn’t escape her ultimate fate.
So she waited, from day to night. The mountain wind was freezing, each gust feeling like it was stealing all her heat.
Her legs were trapped. She slowly lost feeling. As the cold took over, her
mind started to fade.
After hearing about Grace’s accident, Antonio went into the mountains. alone at night.
The forest was vast and typically lush, but it was actually dim and damp. The fog rolling in at night made it hard to see.
Antonio didn’t know exactly where she was, so he just used a compass and searched blind.
But after almost two hours, he had nothing.
He remembered she was scared of the dark.
She must be freaking out in this dark, cold place.
Antonio flashed back to when he had locked her in that dark room.
When he opened the door, she was pale and weak, but he still made her give blood, and because of that, their baby was gone.
Chapter 18:
At the thought of this, Antonio clenched his fists.
Why was he so dumb?
He saw it all, so why did he ignore it?
Antonio hit his head, forcing himself to chill out.
The top priority now was to find Grace. Every minute mattered. Her situation was getting riskier.
This time, he couldn’t let anything happen to her.
The night fog filled the mountains. Antonio was lost, and visibility was low. The silence around him was creepy, with only his own breathing for
company.
Suddenly, he stepped into a mud pit, his feet cold and heavy.
But Antonio didn’t care. He just shook off the mud and kept going.
Because of the low visibility, he couldn’t see the branches, and his face, hands, arms, and legs were scratched. Yet, he didn’t even glance at them, focused only on finding Grace quickly.
But the next moment, he fell into a cold pool of water. After climbing out and not getting far, he slipped on the muddy path and rolled down the mountain.
