Chapter 20
Andrew coughed a couple of times, his voice all raspy. “Antonio, let the past be the past. Don’t think about it anymore. Focus on the company
now…”
“Grandpa. I can’t just let it go. I need to figure this out,” Antonio said firmly before hanging up.
Antonio had to check if the guy was telling the truth. He also needed to know who this guy was and why he knew so much.
Antonio searched for a long time but couldn’t find Grace. Instead, he found a woman in the hospital who was brought in on the same day as him, named Fiona.
For some reason, he felt like Fiona knew everything.
He tried visiting Fiona’s room many times, but each time there was a group of bodyguards outside, making it impossible to get close.
It wasn’t until three days later, when he happened to pass by, that the door opened just a crack.
Antonio peered through the gap and caught a clear view of the woman on the bed, freezing on the spot.
She looked just like Grace.
Ignoring the bodyguards, he rushed in and pulled her into his arms. “Grace, I’ve finally found you…”
His eyes welled up with tears. “Everyone said you were dead, but I didn’t believe them. I clearly remember we were in a car accident and brought to the hospital together. How could you be dead…”

With that, he released her and then gently cupped her face, joy washing over him. “Grace, let’s go home, shall we?”
He couldn’t explain why, but he just couldn’t stand being in the hospital any longer, or even in Auroville. He wanted to take her back to Elmeburg, back to their home.
The bodyguards rushed in, grabbing Antonio to drag him away. “Miss, I’m sorry. We failed to stop him. Let us get him out of here…”
“Wait a minute.” Grace stared at Antonio, not saying a word.
She heard from Jeffrey that Antonio had gone to Mount Frostbite to look for her. He fell down a hill, hit his head, and lost his memory.
But the truth of this story seemed fishy to both Jeffrey and Jonah.
They thought it was just another one of Antonio’s schemes.
For Grace, though, whether it was true or not didn’t really matter. Seeing Antonio go to such lengths to win her back, she finally let go of the past decade.
Once, she had always been the one following Antonio.
In their relationship, she was the one who was always waiting, ready to do anything at his word.
She was so humble.
But now, seeing Antonio like this, she suddenly felt like karma had its
way.
Seeing him begging for forgiveness, showing up again and again, and hoping for a response, she saw a bit of her old self in him.
Two shadows gradually merged, becoming one person.
At that moment, she no longer resented him.
After a while, she gently pried Antonio’s grip off her hand and looked at him with a smile. “Mr. Kaufman, I’ve heard you are deeply devoted to your wife. Seeing you today, I know it’s true.”
“What?” Antonio was puzzled.
She looked at him politely but distantly. “Mr. Kaufman, the whole hospital knows you are looking for your wife, and I’ve heard too. Now it seems I resemble your wife a bit?”
She paused, her lips curving into a smile. “But I’m sorry. I’m not as lucky. as your wife. I just look like her, but I’m not her.”
Antonio just felt a sharp pain in his head, clutching it with both hands. He wanted to say something, but before he could, he passed out.
Seeing blood seeping through the bandage on Antonio’s head, Grace had. the bodyguard take him away and call a doctor. She then asked Jeffrey to help her check out.
She really didn’t want to get entangled with Antonio anymore.
Belated love was worthless. Even if he really fell for her now, who cared?
