Chapter 6
The captain had the guards bring them forward and faced them with a serious expression.
“You two were the ones who spoke rudely to Miss Natalie just now, correct?“&
Camilla instinctively nodded, her face pale.
“Take them away,” the captain ordered without hesitation.
Camilla’s face turned even whiter. “Natalie, who the hell are you? Why is everyone listening to you?”
I smiled at her, tilting my head slightly. “Didn’t I already tell you? If I revealed my true identity, you would be scared to death.”
Camilla had lost face in front of her own staff at the moment, so she had no choice but to take it out on Brandon.
Only hearing a “pop” sound, five bright red fingerprints appeared on Brandon’s face.N
“Camilla, why did you hit me?” Brandon asked, stunned.
She glared at him with pure rage. “Are you seriously asking me that? This was all your stupid idea! You knew your ex–girlfriend had connections at the airport, yet you didn’t tell me?”
Brandon looked at me with a dumbfounded expression, his eyes full of surprise. “Since when did Natalie become so powerful?”
I walked up to him leisurely, reaching out to gently pat the cheek Camilla had just slapped. “Oh, Brandon, I’m far more capable than you ever imagined. You were just too blind to see it.”
I then gestured to the captain to release Camilla.
‘Miss Camilla, do you remember our bet?”
Camilla froze for a moment before clenching her teeth. “Natalie, we’re both well–known figures. Do we really have to go through with
this?”
She took a deep breath, trying to negotiate. “I’m the heiress of the Beaumont Group. Let’s give each other some face, alright? As for your ex–boyfriend, I will return him to you right now. Let’s just call it even.”
I raised a finger and wagged it in front of her. “Oh no, that won’t do. Miss Camilla, your word is your bond. You wouldn’t want to go back on a public bet, would you? After all, your employees heard everything. As their leader, shouldn’t you set an example?“}]
I crossed my arms, feigning impatience. “I don’t have all day. Hurry up and strip. A bet is a bet.”
Camilla’s face drained of all color as she glared at me with pure venom. “Natalie, think this through carefully. This is Los Angeles. My family owns this city. No matter how powerful you think you are, you won’t win against me here.”
I spread out my hands with an indifferent attitude.
Seeing that her threats weren’t working, Camilla scoffed and pulled out her phone, starting to make a phone call in front of me. She quickly dialed a number. “Hello, Dave? It’s Camilla. I need a favor. I’ve encountered something here. Can you come over to help deal with it? Yes, it’s in the Los Angeles International Airport waiting lobby.”
As soon as she ended the first call, Camilla’s face eased a bit. She wasted no time dialing again. “Hello? It’s Camilla Beaumont. Get to the airport lobby now. Handle something for me and I will make it worth your while.“S
After the second call, Camilla already started making provocative gestures towards me.\
It wasn’t until the third call was connected that she completely fell into a frenzy.
“Dad, you are nearby? That’s perfect! I need you here right away. I’m being bullied. What? You are coming now? Great! I will pick you up outside!”
Camilla straightened her posture as she finished her calls and her arrogance swelled back stronger than before. She even threw me a smug look, her confidence overflowing.
I waited for her to finish making all the calls before I opened my mouth unhurriedly, teasing. “Wow, Miss Camilla, you sure know quite a few people. Impressive, impressive.“}]
