Chapter 8 You smell good 

Harman suddenly had a feeling of pressure when he was happily talking to Lynne. As he looked up, he saw a man standing beside their table. Surprised and flattered, he said, “Mr. McGrady, to what do we owe the pleasure?”

He had only met Stoney twice, and he had never expected that Stoney would recognize him. He stood up quickly and didn’t even know where to put his hands. Then he asked, “Mr. McGrady, do you also come here to have a meal?“> 

Giselle was still immersed in surprise, thinking, Stoney, do you also come here to eat? Or, are you up to something else? 

Stoney took his eyes off Harman, fixed them on Lynne’s face, and smiled a bit wickedly, “I came here for this lady here.” 

Shocked, Lynne stood up quickly and blushed, “Mr. Mr. McGrady, have we met before?” 

Stoney answered ambiguously, “I feel that we have known each other for a very long time even though it is the first time I met you. I think it’s our destiny to meet here!” 

Overcome by shyness, Lynne looked down at the table. Her face was red, and her heart beat fast. She was extremely nervous and she stammered, “I… I also think that fate brings us here tonight!” 

Stoney thought for a moment and then he cast a meaningful gaze at Giselle. After that, he looked back at Lynne, saying, “We’ll see each other again.” After he finished, he turned around and walked away. 

Giselle understood why Stoney gave her that look before he left, as Stoney didn’t make that kind of eye contact with others for no good reason. She knew that he was definitely going to do something to Harman and Lynne.

Harman sat down and looked at Lynne excitedly, “Lynne, are you sure you’ve never met Mr. McGrady before? He treated you specially! If we can strike up a friendship with him, we will absolutely make big money!”

Still blushing, Lynne shook her head and replied, “I’m not sure. It is really the first time that I have met Mr. McGrady. But he did treat me as 

someone special. Maybe he likes my appearance? Harman, do you think that he fell in love with me at first sight?”

Hearing that, Giselle almost rolled her eyes at Lynne, who still blushed and acted like she was an innocent damsel.

After dinner, Giselle got a message from Stoney, which said, Come to the hotel we stayed in yesterday. 区 

Okay. I’ll be there in a sec, Giselle texted back.

And after saying goodbye to Harman and Lynne, she walked out of the restaurant. 

She got into a taxi and took out her phone to check the pinhole camera on her desk in the company. Apparently, at half past six, someone broke into the design department and stole the backup draft that she locked in the drawer of her desk. 

Giselle smiled sarcastically and thought, I’m right about these two jerks!

When Giselle arrived at the hotel and walked into the suite, she was immediately pulled into a man’s arms. And she smelled the scent of beer on Stoney. 

Stoney put his forehead on her shoulder and said in a low voice, “You smell good.”

Giselle realized that she was blushing again, “S…Stoney, wait for a minute. I have something to do first.” 

Stoney raised his head and looked at her silently. Then he asked, “What did you call me?”

Giselle’s face was redder. Nervously and shyly, she said, “Sweet…sweetheart!”

Stoney chuckled, “Sweetheart? I’m your sweetheart?”

Giselle closed her eyes and called boldly, “Yes. You are my sweetheart!” 

Stoney smiled gently, “Good. Here’s your gift.” Then he gave Giselle a USB flash drive before going to the bathroom to take a bath.

Giselle stared at his back as if she was thinking about something. She opened her handbag, took out a laptop and plugged in the flash drive.

Then she saw the video which captured them talking and the entangled legs of Lynne and Harman under the table in the restaurant she went to tonight.

Giselle started to laugh. She finally fully understood why Stoney gave her that look earlier. When Giselle stopped laughing, she hurried to open the application page of Starlight Jewelry Contest and upload the scanned version of her design.

Both Starlight Jewelry Contest and Super Jewelry Contest hosted by McGrady Jewelry would start the evaluation process tomorrow. Though the Starlight Jewelry Contest was not as famous as the Super Jewelry Contest, its evaluation process was as open and transparent as that of the latter, which was why Giselle took it seriously.

After Giselle finished her application, Stoney got out of the bathroom. He was half–naked with a towel attached to his waist, showing his eight–pack abs. His good figure made him more stylish in clothes and sexier without clothes on.

Giselle saw drops of water slide from his abs to the towel. She then quickly looked away with her face reddened, and didn’t dare to look at him again.

Stoney walked to her and stood by her side, “Have you finished it?”

She lowered her head and answered in a low voice, “Yeah, I just finished it.”

Stoney continued, “Are you satisfied with the gift I gave you?” 

She nodded, “Of course. It’s very useful. Thank you!”

Stoney said, “You’re welcome. OK, let’s go to sleep.”
