“Reina, I know cheating was wrong, but every man has a confidante. You’re the one I care about the most,” Sean
said.
I opened my mouth, ready to tear into him, but before I could, Sean was airborne. One second, he was standing,
and the next, he was crashing into a stone pillar. He hit the ground hard, coughing up blood.
A heavy silence filled the hall. Severin stood at the top of the stairs, completely unfazed. Everyone turned to look
at him, their faces frozen in fear.
No one saw how he did it. But no one needed to. As the only one who could appear during the day, he was
already terrifying enough.
I barely spared him a glance before getting up and walking away. Gasps rippled through the room. Everyone
expected me to be next, but instead, Severin reached out and grabbed my wrist.
The room tensed. I braced myself, but the blow never came. Instead, his grip tightened, his expression
unreadable.
“I was wrong before,” he said, his voice surprisingly gentle. “But you can’t judge me by one mistake. My feelings for you were never fake.”
The entire hall froze. Even Sean, still groaning on the ground, looked stunned.
An SSS–level boss talking about love? No one could believe it.
Miranda looked like she wanted to rip me apart. Whether Severin was serious or just messing with me, one thing
was clear, I wasn’t just another player in this game.
I yanked my wrist, trying to pull free, but his grip wouldn’t budge. I didn’t get it. He called me his plaything, so why was he acting like this now? Who was he trying to fool? Me? Or everyone else?
I felt uneasy and before I could fully process everything, Sean suddenly jumped to his feet. He pulled out some kind of prop, standing between me and Severin like he actually had a chance. “Reina is my girlfriend! Let her go, you
monster!”
Severin went still, his face unreadable. For a long moment, he just stared at Sean, as if trying to decide whether
he was serious.
No one had ever called him a monster before. He had ruled this nightmare world for years and no one had red
to speak to him like that in forever.
Then, his gaze slid to me. “This is the guy you left me for?” His voice was calm, but there was a bite to it. “You really have terrible taste.”
Everyone in the room froze. It clicked for them all at once. I wasn’t just some random player. I was his ex. The ex–girlfriend of the game’s final boss.
Severin pulled me close, his grip firm, possessive.
“Today is Valentine’s Day,” he murmured, his voice almost gentle. “I told you before, I want to spend every

valentine s Day with you. Mat part was real. The rest… we ll talk about later.
Sean clenched his fists, his face twisted in something ugly. I could see the conflict in his eyes. He never cared about me before. Never treated me like I mattered.
But now that someone else had me–someone stronger, untouchable–suddenly, he couldn’t stand it.
Jealousy. Bitter, twisted and pointless.
However, Severin didn’t even acknowledge him. Sean’s little weapons were a joke to him. Severin could wipe him
out with a flick of his hand if he wanted to.
And honestly, I wasn’t sure he didn’t want to. But instead of dealing with Sean, Severin just scooped me up and carried me away, completely ignoring the chaos behind him.
In an instant, the world shifted.
The run–down, bloodstained apartment disappeared, a sea of flaming red flowers stretched out before me.
I knew this place, it was Severin’s doing.
