“What could possibly be more important than your own boyfriend?!”
As I listened to his slimy and disgusting words, I felt like puking.
Since I was not saying anything, Adam started talking about Laura. “I went to visit Laura a few days ago. Did you know that her father is in the hospital?”
I gave him a perfunctory hum.
But if he chose to call me instead of being with Laura, then there could only be one reason for it.
He was disgusted by Laura.
Considering the lumps on Laura and how much of a womanizer Adam was, it was impossible for him to spend time on her.
This time, after I returned to the past, I looked into Laura and Adam’s relationship, and I found that they had actually gotten together soon after I started dating Adam.
Adam often went to visit Laura after he finished his date with me, and they would sometimes stay for two days in
a hotel.
During those times, Adam always said that he got drunk to hide that he was with Laura.
How nauseating!
Adam kept trying to get me to go on a date with him, but I said no.
I also “accidentally” revealed to him that my father was sick, and someone had to take care of him at all times.
When he heard this, Adam was first surprised before his voice was laced with obvious excitement. He hurriedly said,
“That’s fine! You do you! Colin’s health is of utmost importance!”
From then on, I stayed home and did not step out of my house at all.
Every day, I ate only enough for me to survive. In just a few days, I became much thinner. I also learned online how to make myself look sickly through makeup. I even bought a lot of special effects makeup tools that production crews used.
Half a month later, I received a call from Laura, but this time, she was no longer calm.
Immediately after the call went through, her angry and panicked voice filled my ears. I instinctively pulled the phone away from my ear.
She screamed hysterically, “What’s going on, Anya?! Did nothing happen to Uncle Colin?!”
