“Your family is pretty interesting,” Howard said with a knowing grin.
Diana sneered, her eyes icy and distant.
Howard locked eyes with Diana’s bright ones and asked calmly, “So, what’s your next
move?”
He hadn’t caught the details of the phone call, but from Diana’s expression, he could guess what was up.
Thinking back to Diana’s idea of taking down the Getty family, Howard smirked.
“That’s it, I’m not going back!” Diana declared, deciding Laura’s fate was none of her
concern.

Diana stared at her silent phone, her eyes cold.
In this life, she wouldn’t let the Gettys off easy.
The next day, Diana got up early
After a restless night, she had to visit Sophia with dark circles under her eyes.
“Diana, didn’t you sleep well?” Sophia asked, noticing the dark circles.
Diana shook her head with a smile. “Grandma, I’m just not used to the new place yet. I’ll be fine in a few days.”
“Alright. I’ll have Amelia make some soup for you. Drink some, and if you have nothing
else to do, take a nap.”
“Okay,” Diana nodded obediently.
Then, as if remembering something, Diana said, “But Grandma, I have something to do.
today and need to go out.”
“Alright, go ahead. Just come back early and stay safe,” Sophia said, not prying for details. but reminding Diana to return early.
Seeing the genuine concern in Sophia’s eyes, Diana felt a warmth in her otherwise cold.

After finishing a bowl of soup under Sophia’s watchful eye, Diana took a short nap before.

Leaving the Spencer Villa, Diana went straight to the antique shop.
“Ms. Getty, you’re here,” Joshua greeted her warmly. “I’ve got everything you asked for.”
After thanking him, Diana went into the workshop and started restoring an ancient painting.
The day flew by as she worked. When she finally put down her brush and rubbed her sore
shoulders, she checked her phone.
She had spent the entire day at the shop, and her phone showed over a dozen missed calls
from Howard and Sophia, making her head ache.
She had been so absorbed in her work that she lost track of time, and Sophia must be
worried.
Diana quickly packed her bag and hurried out of the workshop.
“Mr. Thomas, the painting is done. As usual, transfer the payment to my bank account,” she said before rushing out of the shop.
Luckily, the shop wasn’t far from the Spencer Villa. If she took a cab, she could be back
within an hour.
Thinking of this, Diana took out her phone to call a cab.
“Diana!” A familiar yet strange voice called out from behind. Before she could react, someone grabbed her wrist.
Diana turned around with a cold expression, facing a somewhat handsome and clean–cut
face.
Once, this face had confused her and made her fall in love.
Now, it only made her feel disgusted.
“Let go!” Diana’s voice was icy.

Instead of letting go, Robert tightened his grip on Diana’s wrist.
“Diana, listen! Laura needs you right now. Come back with me!”
“She just needs my kidney. Diana sneered. “Robert, if you care so much about her, why don’t you give her your kidney? She’d be happier.”
Hearing that, Robert’s face turned pale. “Diana, what nonsense are you talking about? You’re Laura’s sister; only your kidney is suitable for her.”
Diana suddenly burst into hysterical laughter. “Robert, you make me sick!”
“Diana…”
“Don’t call my name, it’s disgusting!” Diana shouted at Robert, her eyes red. “Let go of me, you bastard!”
Diana’s angry roar attracted the attention of passersby. Panicked, Robert feared Diana would say something to embarrass him, so he tried to drag her away.
Diana angrily tried to pry Robert’s hand off, but the difference in strength between men and women was evident, and she couldn’t break free.
Just as Robert was about to force Diana into a black car, a sudden loud noise startled the surrounding onlookers. They watched in stunned silence as Howard, with a cold expression, approached Diana and Robert, easily knocked Robert down, and shielded Diana behind him.
Diana blinked, looking at the broad back protecting her, her heart suddenly racing uncontrollably.
She clutched her chest tightly, her cheeks flushing.
“Howard?” Robert whispered.
In Emerald City, everyone knew Howard, the richest man in town, adored by many
socialites.
Because of this, Robert was jealous of Howard.
Seeing Diana being protected by Howard, Robert’s jealousy flared, and he couldn’t help. but speak viciously, “Mr. Spencer, this is my family matter. Please don’t interfere.”

“Your family matter?” Howard raised an amused eyebrow. “You were being inappropriate with my wife in public. How is that not my business?”
At these words, not only Robert but also the gossiping onlookers were stunned. No one
had heard that Howard was married.
Robert’s face turned pale with anger, his fists clenched so tightly that his knuckles cracked. “You’re lying! Diana is still my fiancée. How could she be with someone like you!”
Howard raised an eyebrow, unable to hide the mockery in his eyes.
“Honey,” Howard suddenly called softly.
Before Diana could react, her waist was grabbed, and Howard’s domineering, heated breath enveloped her.
Her tightly closed teeth were pried open by Howard’s forceful kiss, his tongue invading her mouth, claiming her breath.
“Let go of me!” Diana struggled.
After what felt like an eternity, Howard finally released Diana, her eyes moist, her cheeks and the corners of her eyes flushed, her lips swollen and inviting.
“Honey, you’re so sweet, Howard murmured, giving Diana’s lips a light peck before. turning to face the pale, incredulous Robert.
