Howard knew he was in the wrong, so he couldn’t argue with Sophia’s scolding.

She looked up at Howard, then at Diana, and then smiled broadly as she took the bracelets from the jewelry box and put them on her wrist
“You two are so thoughtful. Sophia admired the bracelets on her wrist, showing them off to Diana. “Do they look good?”
Diana smiled gently, “Grandma, they suit you perfectly.”
Sophia affectionately patted Diana’s head and said softly, “Get some good rest. If you need anything, just ask Howard to get it for you. If he picks on you, let
know.”
“Okay” “Diana smiled as she watched Sophia leave the room, but her smile quickly faded,
Sophia made Diana feel the care and warmth of family that she had long missed. No matter what happened in this life, the must protect Sophia.
“What’s wrong with you? Howard, who had been silent, suddenly asked.
“I just had a nightmare, Diana looked away and said lightly.

After a long while, Diana felt the bed beside her sink

Howard curled his lips into a faint smile.
His smile was fleeting, causing ripples in Diana’s once–dry heart.

The fear and despair Diana showed in her nightmare made him feel distressed.
Diana was slightly stunned. She remembered the tragic and horrifying scenes in her dream and subconsciously resisted letting Howard know.
“I don’t remember.”
“Really?” Howard’s eyes darkened. He knew Diana wasn’t telling the truth, but since she didn’t want to say, he wouldn’t force her.
