Only then did she hold him in relief. “Thanks, Harry. Thank God for you.”
He pushed her away gently, feeling a little ill at ease. “It’s fine as long as you’re okay.”
It was already time for lunch after everything that had happened, so Ivory dragged him to a popular pastry shop she’d been eyeing for a while.
Harold checked the time. There were four hours to the wedding–he had more than enough time.
Ivory only wanted to eat at the pastry shop for the sake of the photos. She kept adjusting the plates for the perfect angle.
In the past, Harold would’ve watched her indulgently. For some reason, he felt uneasy and restless as he sat there that day.

Chapter 5
He thought about the indifferent look in my eyes before he left. It was almost as if I didn’t care about the wedding.
But how could that be? I’d looked forward to it for the longest time. I was the one who’d proposed to him; I was the one who’d begged for us to have a wedding.
Two hours before the wedding, Harold finally got to the tailor shop. He was informed that his suit had already been collected, though.
He relaxed. He knew there was no way I would give up on the wedding. Meanwhile, Ivory was dazzled by the wedding gowns on display. He had no choice but to accompany her as she looked through them.
When Harold realized he was going to be late, he happened to get caught in evening traffic. The traffic flow seemed to be deliberately going against him—he just couldn’t get to his destination.
He finally arrived at the pizzeria two hours past the appointed hour. Still, he didn’t think there was any problem. He was sure I wouldn’t mind as long as he showed up.,
However, when he got out of the car, he found that the pizzeria wasn’t decorated the way he would’ve expected a wedding venue to look. He asked Bob where I was.
Bob snorted. “Are you only remembering her now? It’s too late.”
What did that mean?
Harold pressed Bob for answers, but the latter didn’t want to say anything. A guest couldn’t take it anymore and said, “You must be that scumbag. To think you gave up on a woman as wonderful as Minerva! She changed this wedding into a farewell party–she said this feast is for us to celebrate her leaving this city.”
Harold felt like he’d been struck by lightning. How could this be?
He frantically called me, but I didn’t answer. He ran home to find it empty, save for the necklace he’d gotten me. It was on the table. But where was I?
He remembered what the guest had said and hurried to the airport. On the way there, he clenched his fists tightly. He told himself that I was just mad at him. Once he showed up, I would happily return home with him. He was sure I would be appeased as long as he showed me more concern in the future.
To his dismay, I boarded my flight without another look back, which he couldn’t understand. Hadn’t it always been my dream to marry him?
