Chapter 7
Harold looked at Sean dubiously, but his question was directed at me. “Who is he?”
“I’m Minerva’s boyfriend. Please stop harassing her from now on,” Sean said.
Harold ignored him and continued questioning me. “Who is he?”
Sean blocked me completely from Harold’s gaze. “Talk to me if you have anything to say.‘
Harold sneered, looking angry. Then, he threw a punch at Sean’s face. Sean was faster than him, though. He easily dodged the punch,
He stopped smiling and eyed Harold squarely. “Let’s head outside if you really want to start something. I won’t back down.”
When I saw that they looked like they really were going to duke it out, I hurriedly stopped Sean and shook my head at him. He patted my hand and gave me a look to ‘calm me. Then, he and Harold went out.
I knew Harold had gotten into gang fights during college, so I was worried Sean would get hurt. Ultimately, I hurried after them.
To my surprise, Sean could hold himself in a fight despite his gentle appearance. It didn’t take long for Harold to end up bruised. After a punch to the gut, he fell to the ground, unable to move.
“Are you okay?” I checked on Sean worriedly, relaxing when I saw he only had some superficial wounds.
Harold pursed his lips as he watched us from the ground, his gaze glum. He slowly got to his feet and moved his lips. He seemed like he wanted to protest, but his words came out as a reluctant admission of defeat. “Fine. I’ve lost.”
He gave me a profound look before limping away.
I checked on Sean again just to make sure he was fine. He said, “I’m okay. Judging from how he acted earlier, I doubt he’ll give up. You might be in danger for some time, so how about I drive you home after work for the next few days? It’s on my way.”
I didn’t want to drag him into this, so I rejected him. “No, it’s fine. It’s too much trouble.”
B
“No, it’s not. I only wish you would trouble
me
“he muttered.
