“You! Mr. Ford, whatever’s going on between me and my girlfriend is none of your business.”
Nicolas looked like he was on the verge of exploding, but he didn’t dare push too far. Despite his anger, he knew better than to offend someone like Aaron. He might be clawing his way through the business world, but going against Aaron? That was a losing battle.
Seeing the situation spiraling, I knew it was time to step in
I pulled out my phone, opened the profile page of Nicolas‘ Burner account, and held it up to his face.
“Nicolas, just because I once cared about you out of some lingering high school nostalgia doesn’t mean you get to treat me like a doormat. Did you really think you were clever? That you could hide behind a fake account, throw insults around, and I’d never find out?”
He clearly underestimated the power of the internet. Those eagle–eyed netizens had done their homework and tracked me down as his girlfriend without missing a beat.
Nicolas paled for a split second when he saw what I was showing him.
“What’s this? Why are you showing me that?”
I smiled faintly, unbothered. “Oh, what’s wrong? Don’t recognize it? Go ahead. Pull out your phone and log in.
Let’s see if you’ve got the guts.”

He had given up on denying it. His face had turned a sickly gray as he stumbled over his words.
“Look, I’m sorry. I was just angry when I said those things. Can you stop being so dramatic about it?”
I laughed coldly, the smile lingering on my lips.
“Nicolas, you are the biggest joke I’ve seen all year. I’m done talking to you. Forget everything else, but the one hundred thousand dollars you owe me—I want it back within a week. After that, stay out of my sight.”
I couldn’t help but laugh at how ridiculous it all was. From two months into our relationship until now–had he seriously spent all this time stewing in bitterness? What kind of person would hold onto something like that for so long? It was beyond absurd.
At first, Nicolas tried pleading, spewing apologies and empty promises, but when he realized I wasn’t budging, his true colors began to show.
“You planned this all along, didn’t you, Claire?” Nicolas sneered, his voice dripping with venom. “You came all the way to my house to humiliate me, then ran off to a hotel to have a good time with your lover.”
His words were sharp, and his gaze swung straight to Aaron.
Mrowned. “Are you out of your
