Rose was dead.
Emma rushed me to emergency care.
“Rachel, Rachel.” She was smiling, but tears fell like broken strings of pearls. “Did you see? The person who hurt you is dead…”
“Rachel, if you have any spirit in heaven, please bless Rachel and let her pull through this crisis.”
The emergency room door was finally opened, and the doctor shook his head.
“Rachel’s body was already being sustained by medication. Now that she’s lost so much blood, I’m afraid it’s not going to work.“”
Emma covered her face and stopped looking at me.
I knew she was heartbroken, but there was nothing I could do. If only Emma could hear my thoughts like Adrian.
My thoughts paused, and I had an idea. Let Adrian help me pass on a message.
But Adrian, where was he now?
I closed my eyes in despair, waiting for death to come.
I was already used to death, but after being reborn once, I hadn’t been able to tell Emma in person how much I loved her too.
Back then, when I married Adrian and moved far away, I had a big fight with her and said harsh words about never seeing her again in this lifetime.
I didn’t expect those words to come true.
“Let me in! How dare you not let me see my wife!”
Adrian stumbled in, happily rushing to my side,

Adrian stumbled in, happily rushing to my side,
“Wife, I finally understand. You’re Rachel, aren’t you? It must be that my wife couldn’t bear to leave me, so she came back as a cat to keep me company”
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, wife. I was such a jerk. I shouldn’t have kicked you.” He explained incoherently.
“I shouldn’t have left you and the baby at home, I shouldn’t have…”
Adrian started crying, “I shouldn’t have burned your wedding ring, shouldn’t have scattered your ashes… Forgive me, forgive me, please, wife. I’ll never dare to do it again,
never again. Please, don’t leave me…”
He cried so heartbrokenly that my heart ached along with him.
I tried, but found that I couldn’t send my thoughts to Adrian.
Was it because I was too weak?
I exhausted my strength and passed out. In my ears, I could hear Adrian’s terrified pleas,
“Wife, don’t go, don’t go…”
When I woke up again, I hadn’t become a wandering ghost, but was being held by Adrian, squeezed onto a small bed.
His six–foot–three frame made the pet bed groan in protest. Seeing me wake up, he
smiled foolishly with two huge dark circles under his eyes:
“Wife, it’s not a dream. You’re really still here.
I felt a pang in my heart at the astonishing devotion he displayed. After all these years
together, what did I really mean to him?
Why was he always so cold to me when I was alive, but now that I’m dead, he’s gone
mad?

Feeling that my body had recovered quite a bit, I tried to lightly swish my tail and found my whole body surprisingly light.
Adrian smiled proudly, “Does wife feel much better?”
“I went to seek help from a mystic. He bound our life forces together. As long as one of us is still alive, we can share our life force.”
“I gave half of my lifespan to you, wife. This way, you’ll never leave me again.”
I was stunned. I should have died long ago, and even if I had turned into a cat, it would only be for a few years.
Adrian was a year younger than me, in the prime of his life. How could he waste his life like this?
I looked at him silently. Adrian, I don’t need you to do this.
Adrian almost immediately rolled off the bed. He knelt on the ground, terrified.
“Wife, don’t be angry. I’m not afraid of death. only gave you half of my lifespan because I can’t bear to part with you. I want to be with you…”
Seeing the man I once loved deeply reduced to this state, I turned my head away, unable to bear it.
“Rachel, you’re awake!”
