She then called Jasper, expecting him not to answer. Surprisingly, he picked up quickly, as if waiting for her call.
“Jasper, are you crazy?! I know you hate me, but do you know the consequences of what you did? If someone digs up your identity…”
Jasper coldly interrupted her, “You should worry about yourself. For things like this, society, especially high society, is much more forgiving of men than women…”
“Besides, this is what we owe her.”
Hearing this, Lily’s heart suddenly ached.
She never thought Jasper hated her so much, enough to ruin her.
She also didn’t expect him to love Luna so deeply, willing to destroy his future for her.
But it didn’t matter.
If she couldn’t have his heart, having him physically was enough.
Lily looked at her slightly swollen belly and softly said, “Baby, grow up well.”
To ensure everything was flawless, Lily barely left the house during this time.
To care for her unborn child, Mrs. Johnson hired a live–in maid and a chef.
These past months of pregnancy, she was well cared for, her body becoming more rounded.
Mrs. Johnson called at noon, asking the driver to take her back to the old house for Mrs. Johnson’s 90th birthday celebration.
Just in the car, she suddenly remembered she hadn’t prepared a gift, so she directed the driver to the mall.
Though Mrs. Johnson was 90, she came from a prestigious family and loved wearing cheongsams.
There was no time for a custom order, so Lily spent all her savings on a limited edition amber silk cheongsam.
She sat on the sofa, instructing a nearby bodyguard to fetch the gift box. The bodyguard went to the front desk.
Meanwhile, a woman who had been browsing clothes suddenly charged at her like a madwoman, her twisted face terrifying Lily.
Before she could dodge, a sharp hairpin stabbed into her belly.
‘Homewreckers deserve to die!”
A sharp pain shot through her. When she regained consciousness, she was lying in a hospital bed.

The people sitting in the room weren’t from the Johnson Family; it was her aunt, Willow.
Seeing her awake, Willow exclaimed in delight, “Lily, you’re finally awake.”
She was seated on the sofa and instructed the bodyguard next to her to fetch the gift box. The bodyguard nodded and headed to the front desk.
Meanwhile, a woman who had been browsing clothes suddenly charged at her, looking deranged and furious. The sight of her twisted face sent a shiver down Lily’s spine.
Before Lily could react, a sharp hairpin was violently driven into her abdomen.
“All mistresses deserve to die!”
The searing pain was intense, and when Lily regained consciousness, she found herself lying in a hospital bed.
In the hospital room, instead of someone from the Johnson Family, her aunt Willow was there.
Seeing Lily awake, Willow exclaimed with joy, “Lily, you’re finally awake.”
Lily frowned and instinctively tried to sit up, but a tearing pain in her lower abdomen stopped her.
A sense of dread crept in, and she asked, pale–faced, “Aunt, where’s my baby?”
Willow hesitated, clearly reluctant to speak but eventually said, “Lily, you’re still young. You can have more children in the future. Right now, focus on recovering.”
Lily began to cry quietly.
It was all over, completely over.
Suddenly remembering something, she grabbed Willow’s hand and asked, “Did anyone from the Johnson Family come?”
When Willow nodded, she felt slightly relieved.
“Where are they? Did Jasper come?”
Willow’s expression grew more worried as she recalled the doctor’s words, feeling even more heartbroken for her niece.
Lily noticed Willow’s hesitation and said calmly, “Aunt, just tell me the truth. I can handle it.”
Hearing this, Willow no longer held back and placed a bank card in Lily’s hand.
“The Johnson Family provided this as support and compensation.”
Even though she had prepared herself mentally, the reality still made Lily’s heart ache.
“There’s something else, Lily. I can’t hide it from you. When you were rushed to the hospital, the wound was so severe that it caused a rupture
in your uterus, leading to massive bleeding. They had to remove it to save your life…”
Willow looked at Lily’s pale face, unable to continue. They say elite families can be heartless, and she had witnessed it firsthand.
Such a major incident, and her niece’s husband never showed up.
The Johnson Family merely used money to brush it off.
“What about the woman who stabbed me…”
Lily’s eyes turned red with anger, her expression like that of a ghost rising from hell.
“I want to charge her with attempted murder! She should be in jail!”
Lily initially thought the woman would be suffering in custody during this time.
