The first video showed lan trudging into the office looking rather dejected while the surrounding colleagues gossiped among themselves. Elaine had approached him to comfort him, but as soon as she placed a hand on him, he shoved it away.
Elaine’s eyes instantly reddened. With an aggrieved expression, she said, “I know you’re in a bad mood, Ian. I just wanted to comfort you. Belle didn’t bother to consider how you guys would feel when she decided to leave without even saying a word.”
However, Ian’s expression instantly darkened, and the look in his eyes made Elaine back away in fear.
“You have no right to comment on anything Belle does. Get out of my sight!” Ian roared before slamming his office door shut with a bang.
Elaine was left outside feeling humiliated. She had always loved pestering Ian, and many people assumed she had a special relationship with him. Thus, whenever she ordered the others around and assigned her own work to others, they would just bear with it in silence.
Now that she had been humiliated like that, everyone in the office started chuckling. Some of the female colleagues who didn’t like her started making pointed remarks.
“Oh. Looks like it was one–sided after all. She probably thinks she’s got a shot now that Belle is gone.”
Unable to put up with this, Elaine stomped her feet and ran out of the office in tears.
After seeing the video, I felt a little taken aback when I heard what Ian said. Ever since Elaine showed up, he had never come to my defense anymore.
At times, I couldn’t figure out how a relationship that had been established through over a decade of mutual care and affection could truly be replaced by someone who only showed up several months ago. Perhaps it simply meant that the relationship itself had been flawed from the start. An opening had existed for someone else to swoop in and take advantage of.
