As the ceremony concluded, Nathan’s wolf emerged from the shadows and stood beside mine.
The two wolves gazed at each other in the moonlight, their eyes filled with love. Their low growls were like a promise to the goddess and an acceptance of this fate.
Once the wedding ended and after socializing with relatives and friends, Nathan reminded me to handle the situation with Carl.
Looking at Nathan’s calm and composed demeanor, I nodded and headed outside the hotel.

Chapter 10
Carl was sitting by the roadside, bloodied. As soon as he spotted me, he gritted his teeth, rushed over, and fell to his knees in front of me.
“Blaire, please hear me out. I was a jerk before, but now I realize I was wrong. Please give me a chance. Let me make it up to you. If you leave me, I’ll have nothing!
“I swear I’ve realized my mistakes. After you left, I watched the footage from the surveillance cameras at home. You didn’t lay a hand on Ivy. It was all part of her scheme. I didn’t trust you, and I was deceived by her. It’s all my fault. You can blame me, but please give me a chance to make it right!
“We’ve known each other for ten years. We grew up together and agreed to marry each other one day. Have you forgotten? We’re fated to be together!”
At his words, I scoffed in disbelief.
“Carl, just take it as I’ve forgotten everything. If I admit I was the one who fell out of love first, will you leave me alone? Think whatever you want. As you can see, I’m already married. I told you, we’re over, and don’t contact me anymore.”
As soon as I was done speaking, he frantically pulled out a photo album. Inside were 9,998 photos, printed exquisitely, like a smaller version of the album I had burned.
Before he could say anything, I grabbed it from him and tossed it into the swimming pool nearby.
Startled, Carl hastily jumped into the pool to retrieve it.
But the album was long gone, just like our relationship–there was no way to salvage it.
Watching the soaked and desperate Carl climb out of the pool, I expressionlessly added, “Carl, I think we both know exactly what you wanted from being with me. Even though we were never really together, I’m giving you a proper farewell.
“Stop making a scene, and don’t make me hate you. Let the last ten years we spent together stay where they belong in our memories. Don’t ruin the last bit of good impression I have of you.”
With that, I turned and left.
Nathan was waiting for me at the hotel entrance. Together, we climbed into the luxury Maybach sports car that Carl had always coveted and sped away while he watched in despair.
I said goodbye to the ten years I spent with him.
