In the end, I still went to the Glory with them. 2
However, it was Rory and Chris who dragged me there.
Sitting in Chris’s Maybach, I smiled bitterly and asked, “Cliris, aren’t you upset seeing your daughter calling someone else Dad?”
“You should ask your ex–husband that question,” Chris said casually.
“Why? He doesn’t care about Laura. Are you willing to give them Brenda?” I changed into a more comfortable position and said, “James isn’t a good father at all. You should ask for Brenda back when you get the chance.”
I felt that Brenda would become a selfish bitch sooner or later if she stayed with Nova and James.
Chris pulled up at the side of the road before he turned around and looked at me. “Catherine, have you mistaken something? Brenda isn’t my daughter.”
I quickly opened my eyes and gave him a puzzled look. “She’s not your daughter? Aren’t the two of you married?” 1
“What? You’re my fiancee. Our names are written on the marriage contract, how can I abandon you?” Chris frowned. “Who does the Somerfield family think they are, trying to get Nova to marry me instead of you?”
I widened my eyes in disbelief. “Then who did Nova marry?
“She married my cousin. Since they were going to marry her off to me instead of you, then I’ll get someone else to marry her as well.” Chris’s lips curved into a mischievous smile. “Catherine, how fucking stupid do you have to be to abandon me and marry that poor man?”
After finding out the truth, I suddenly laughed out loud.
