I walked into the lobby and heard a loud voice
that sounded familiar. It was Tiffany, yelling,
“I bought the house here, now it’s haunted. You need to pay me!”
“If you don’t pay me, I’ll call the cops!”
As soon as she finished, she saw me, and her
face changed from red to white.
“Well, hello there! What are you doing here?
Planning to sell your stuff to get by?”
She showed off her jade bracelet, and when she
noticed me staring, she smiled triumphantly.
“This was my mother’s. You’ve probably never even seen real jewelry before, have you?”
“After all those years with Mark, you never had

She was trying to trigger me.
“Tiffany, last I checked, Mark bought that house
for you,” I said, my voice flat.
“You’re just trying to sell it so that your secret
love child can get their heart fixed, right?”
Everyone’s eyes widened. I had just exposed
her affair to the world.
Tiffany’s face turned purple, and she screamed,
“I’ll sue you for slander!”
I ignored her, picking up the contract and
looking at it carefully to make sure there
weren’t any issues. Then I started to dial the

Tiffany panicked.
Like a lost dog, she ran away.
“Rainey, I hope you never have kids! That is

As her voice disappeared, I went back to work.
I opened the email sent from the doctor, and I
saw the report.

Mark went crazy.
He ran over to my house and started
screaming.

Tiffany was even worse, her upper body was
covered in bruises, and her face was swollen.
