His voice dropped even lower. “Selina, I misunderstood you. Saya conspired with the wolves from the frontier. I only realized it when I was dealing with them.
“The maid by Saya’s side–she was from the frontier. After she learned about Saya’s plan to fake her death, she swapped out the medicine and framed the Snowfang Pack. I trusted you, so I didn’t save Saya in time. But she really ended up dying for real.”
I didn’t want to hear any of this.
The strange events from my previous life didn’t need much thought to figure out.
But so what if I knew the truth?
He had already done the things that he shouldn’t have done.
“So what if she killed herself out of shame because I advised you to think things through?”
I looked coldly at Ryan. “Ryan, the decision to marry her was in your hands. You saw how the Alpha King firmly disagreed, and you wavered, didn’t you?
“But you destroyed everything I had because of my kind advice!”
“I thought ”
“I don’t want to hear it.”
The autumn wind howled, sending a chill through the air.
Ryan stared at me, then suddenly smiled.
“I know how to solve our problems now.”
He grabbed my hand and led me forward. Ahead, I saw Saya, held by two wolf kingdom guards. Her neck was bound by chains, and a silver fang dagger had already left a thin trail of blood across her forehead.
“Ryan, I’m sorry! I truly regret my actions! You… you know I never wanted to betray you!”
Saya’s eyes were wild with confusion and despair, and her face streaked with tears.
“You need to atone now.”
Ryan’s voice was devoid of emotion. He raised the silver fang dagger and drove it into Saya’s chest–just as he had done to me in the past.
