Chapter 10 No One Believes She Can Do Well in the Exam
Katie stopped, her voice polite but distant, “Eddie, Clifford, Melvin.”
If she didn’t call them by name, they’d probably accuse her of being rude or sulking.

She wasn’t in the mood to argue with them over these petty things; it would just be a waste of
time.
Melvin raised an eyebrow and looked at her. “How was the test today? You decided not to team because of your so–called dedication to studying. I’m curious to see just how well do!”

Katie didn’t let Melvin’s jabs get to her. No matter what she did, her brothers never thought much
of it.
She pressed her lips together and said, “I’ll try my best.”
Try her best to improve her grades, try her best to get into Thalindor University, and get away from all of them.
Clifford snorted. “Katie’s never been good at studying. She didn’t perform well in her first two years of high school, and now, just before graduation, she’s making a last–minute effort. It’s all just for the show. In the end, she’s still ranked behind Sally!”
Sally smiled and said, “Clifford, don’t be so harsh. Katie’s been putting in a lot of effort lately, and the teachers have even praised her. Rankings aren’t everything.”
Katie clenched her backpack, a surge of anger rising in her chest.
There was a reason her grades were poor in her past life.
It was because every time she outperformed Sally, Sally would cause trouble for her, which only led her brothers to turn against her.
In order to avoid making her brothers dislike her, Katie purposely didn’t take the exams seriously.
As a result, her grades were always worse than Sally’s, but it was all to keep Sally from causing trouble.
That didn’t mean she was actually bad at studying!
In her past life, when it came time for the college entrance exam, she had wanted to outperform Sally, to prove she was better than her.
But in the end? Rowan forced her into applying to the same lower–ranked college as Sally.
Even though her grades could have gotten her into a better college!

Her

The next day, it was the weekend. Katie slept until she woke up naturally.
When she went downstairs for breakfast, the living room was empty.
They are probably at the training camp.
Katie didn’t pay much attention to it. After finishing her meal, she returned to her room.
She opened her phone and glanced at the news about the gaming competition.
As expected, the official announcement for the revival competition was posted.
It was exactly the same as in her past life.
When Melvin saw the announcement, he got all fired up, full of energy, and determined to win the competition.
That was the only way to advance and take revenge on the young scion of the Ashfords in the finals!
But in her previous life, the MadSky Team’s victory was more of a stroke of luck.
The young scion of the Ashfords had dropped out of the competition at the crucial moment, which gave them the chance to win.
However, as for why he withdrew from the competition, Katie never learned the reason, not even on the day she died.
Some said it was a sudden illness, while others claimed he was called back by his family to inherit the family business, but he never came forward to clarify.
Katie glanced at the game details and suddenly felt a strong urge to play.
But then, Ryan’s voice popped into her mind.
She had promised him that they would decide whether or not to play the game based on the monthly exam results.
Alright, she could wait a little longer, at least until the exam results were out.
She took out her phone, thought it over for a moment, and then sent Ryan a WhatsApp message, “I didn’t go to the infirmary last week after school because Eddie found out I hadn’t come home on time. I was worried he might discover my secret base, so I didn’t go.”
After sending the message, Katie stared at the chat screen for a long time, but there was no reply.

Does this guy never post anything?
How strange!
Meanwhile, Ryan glanced at the message he had received, his eyes narrowing slightly.
“Ryan, who just messaged you?”
Ryan locked his screen without saying a word.

Elliot raised an eyebrow. Judging by the profile picture, it’s a girl. Could it be the one you helped. the other day? What was her name again… Katie, right?”
“You’re talking too much.”
“I think you’re just feeling guilty. You were working late at the infirmary last week, then suddenly stopped going, and these past few days, you’ve had a cold expression on your face. Did you have a fight with her?”
Ryan turned his head, his gaze sharp and dangerous. “Don’t be curious about my business.”
“We grew up together, there’s nothing I don’t know about you. Stop pretending!”
Ryan took his phone and stepped out onto the balcony, glancing down at the chat screen.
Does she really think of the infirmary as her secret base?
He couldn’t help but chuckle to himself, then opened her social media.
It was mostly everyday posts, with a very girlish vibe..
He scrolled for a while, suddenly realizing he had spent too much time on her profile. The feeling was getting out of control.
Ryan quickly exited the app and turned back toward the living room.
Katie waited the whole day but didn’t receive a reply from him.
Is he angry?
She didn’t dare send another message to bother him and decided to wait until Monday after the results came out.
Throughout the entire weekend, Katie stayed home studying.
Sally and the others didn’t come back either. They stayed at the training camp.

However, they were chatting and laughing, clearly getting along much better.
Katie didn’t say a word and simply went straight to the dining room to cat.
Melvin’s tone was laced with mockery. “The results come out today, right?”
Katie nodded. “Yes”
“I’ve told you before to join the team. Given your grades, you’re not going to get into a good college. Instead of wasting time studying, you might as well start training to become a professional player. With the resources we have, becoming famous would just be a matter of time. It’s such a shame though–you didn’t take that chance, and now it’s gone to Sally.”
Katie recalled the humiliation of being replaced in her past life.
She replied calmly, “It doesn’t matter.”
After grabbing her breakfast, Katie turned and walked out of the hall.
Seeing Katie’s indifferent response, Melvin was infuriated. “I can’t wait to see her great results. Hiph
Sally, noticing that Katie didn’t agree to join the team, finally felt relieved.
She knew Katie had a natural talent for gaming, and if Katie joined, there wouldn’t be room for her.
Still, she forced a smile and said, “Melvin, don’t be upset. Katie is just throwing a fit. Once she agrees to join the team. I’ll gladly give up my spot for her.”
Melvin nodded in satisfaction. “You’re the most sensible one!”
Sally’s smile faltered, and inside, she felt a surge of resentment. She had been pushing herself so hard to practice gaming, all for the sake of earning Melvin’s approval.
Unfortunately, it seemed that he still thought Katie was more capable.
Sally made up her mind. She would prove herself in the game and make sure Melvin would abandon the idea of having Katie join the team.
Melvin looked somewhat worried. After all, the revival competition was crucial, and if they lost, there would be no more opportunities.
Despite Sally’s hard work, her gaming talent wasn’t enough. With only a month left until the match, her skills were far from suflicient.
To beat that Ashfords kid, they needed someone with real skill!
Right now, Katie was the only option.

He had gotten used to the way they interacted as siblings and couldn’t change it.
How long was Katie going to keep throwing a tantrum?
Did she really have to force him to lower his pride?
