Chapter 13 Apologize
Katie was a bit surprised when she heard the principal’s words.
She didn’t expect the principal to bring this up.
She calmly glanced at Melvin and Sally across from her.

However, Melvin’s expression became noticeably awkward. In the past, it was always Katie chasing after him, he never had to do anything that would put him in an uncomfortable position.
As her older brother, he was used to being treated like he was above everyone else.
Having him apologize now felt worse than killing him..
Sally immediately spoke up, “Katie, when did you become so amazing? You’ve been secretly studying at home, and none of us knew. You’ve worked so hard to get such great results, and now you’re being accused of cheating. Melvin immediately came to school to help you. He actually cares about you a lot.”
After giving Melvin an out, he coldly spoke, “Sally, stop. Some ungrateful people won’t understand.”
Melvin looked at Sally with more approval. This was the way a younger sister should be.
Katie glanced at him with a half–smile, “Yeah, Melvin came to school right away. And then what happened? He told the teachers I cheated, forced me to apologize in front of the entire school. Sounds great, right? Would you want that for yourself?”
Sally was instantly speechless.
Melvin, embarrassed and furious, snapped, “Katie, you were the one secretly working hard without telling us, making me think you were cheating. Yes, your grades went up, but is this little. trick really necessary?”
The principal spoke up again, looking at James, “Who was the first to accuse Katie of cheating? Bring them here to apologize.”
James immediately called over Sally’s two lackeys.
The lackey Belinda was still unaware of the situation and confidently said, “Sir, we said Katie must have cheated to get such good grades. So, has the investigation confirmed that?”
James nodded. “Exactly. The investigation has confirmed that Katie didn’t cheat. You two need to apologize to her right now.”
The lackeys were stunned. Katie didn’t cheat?
How could that be?
Chapter 13 Apologize
Now, you should apologize to her.”
With that, she cleared herself of any blame.
Finished
Her lackeys reluctantly apologized to Katie, “Sorry, we were wrong. We shouldn’t have said that.”
James turned to Katie. “Do you have any other requests?”
Katie shook her head, “No, that’s all.”
James smiled approvingly. “Katie has been working really hard lately, but Sally’s grades dropped significantly this time.”
Sally felt embarrassed, especially with Katie achieving such good results. It was almost humiliating.
With red eyes, Sally stammered, “I–I was just delayed by time. It won’t happen again.”
Melvin also felt a bit embarrassed. “What’s the point of getting good grades? In the end, gaming will make you famous, and the money you make will be far more important than these grades.”
Sally secretly agreed with him.
James, however, was enraged. He hadn’t expected Melvin to speak like that. He looked at Sally, “You should learn more from Katic.”
Sally bit her lip tightly, then turned and ran out of the office.
Melvin shot Katie a harsh look. “So what if you got one good grade? Is it really worth showing off in front of Sally? She’s been distracted by the gaming team, which is why her grades dropped. You, on the other hand, haven’t put in any effort, so you have no right to brag
Katie barely lifted her eyelids. “Did I show off?”
The principal spoke up again, “I clearly heard Mr. James bragging about Katie’s score, not Katie herself. As a brother, you shouldn’t be so biased.”
Melvin was caught off guard and replied, “I’m not being biased. Katie’s just that kind of
Then, he went out to chase after Sally.
Katie turned to the principal and said, “Thank you.
person.”
“No need to thank me. You’ve earned this with your own ability. Go back to class. I need to have a meeting with the teachers and make sure everything is addressed properly.”
Katie left the office.
As she walked down the hall, she spotted Ryan standing by the wall, wearing a white lab coat.

When their eyes met, Katie’s heart inexplicably started to race.
Ryan straightened up and asked coldly, “How did it go?”

“Of course I won! The principal had me do a set of problems, and I scored better than in the monthly exam.”
Katie lifted her chin with a touch of pride.
Seeing Ryan now made her victory feel truly real.
Ryan lowered his eyes slightly, his tone calm, “Did they apologize?”
Katie was taken aback momentarily, wondering if he was referring to Sally and Melvin.
She shook her head. “Only the scapegoats apologized. The mastermind didn’t, but I don’t care. I already gave them a good slap in the face with my results!”
And honestly, she still felt pretty pleased about it!
Ryan’s usually composed face softened into a smile as he said, “Come see me after school.”
Then, he left.
Katie noticed someone approaching down the corridor, so she didn’t ask any more questions.
She turned and headed back to the classroom.
The previously noisy classroom had quieted down a bit.
James quickly entered and announced that Katie’s grades were legitimate and there had been no cheating.
Sally slumped over her desk, feeling down, and couldn’t muster the energy to look at the cake
anymore.
She needed to find a way. She couldn’t let Katie’s grades improve like this.
How could Katie be better than her?
After school that afternoon, Katie went straight to the infirmary.
Ryan was sitting in a chair, and when she entered, he glanced back at her, “Have you finished your homework?”
“I’ve corrected all the mistakes the teacher wanted me to check.
She didn’t make many mistakes and the few she did were the ones she hadn’t reviewed or

Ryan gestured to the computer next to him. “Got an account for the game”
Yeah, but I want to create a new one!
“Perfect, we’ll both use new accounts
Ryan wasn’t planning on playing with her using his main account.
After opening the game, Kane quickly chose the name Sweet Lemon
Once the game loaded, she turned to Ryan. “What’s your name? Let’s add each other as friends.”
Katie sneaked a glance at his game screen, and the name caught her amencion–it seemed oddy familiar. If Time Could Tum Back
She instantly remembered something
In her past life. she had an online boyfriend with the exact same username
Ryan raised an eyebrow. “What are you staring an? Accept the friend request”
Katie’s face instantly turned red, and she hurriedly accepted the inend request, ber emotions surring as she looked at the game character.
But in her past life, this wasn’t the moment she had met her online boyfriend.
Maybe it was just a coincidence?
Katie glanced at him out of the corner of her eye, “By the way, why did you choose that username?”
Ryan hesitated for a moment, his gaze lowered. I just picked it randomly
Katie nodded, thinking it might actually be just a coincidence,
After entering the game, they headed straight to the novice zone to complete some tasks.
Katie could tell that Ryan wasn’t a novice. He’d likely created a new account just to play with her. but she didn’t ask him for details.
Yet, his way of playing felt strangely familiar, almost like that person
Katie couldn’t help but ask. “Master, is this the same name you use for your main account?
“No
“Then, is today the first time you’ve made this new account with this username to play?”
Ryan glanced at her briefly. “Yeah, why?”

She felt conflicted. So, is he that person or not?
But the timing didn’t match up with her past life.
Finished
In her previous life, she only met that person after the revival competition ended. It was he who taught her how to improve her gaming skills, and it was thanks to him that they made it to the finals.
Even though she never met her online boyfriend in person before she died, she was still grateful for how he helped her when she was stranded on the streets.
Katie seemed a bit distracted.
After finally completing the tasks and leaving the novice zone, they ran into another team while. working on the next quest.
When Katie saw the team’s game name, a mocking smile spread across her face.
It was Melvin and Sally.
Ryan narrowed his eyes slightly. “Do you want to take them on?”
“Take them on? We’re all using new accounts, and our gear doesn’t even compare to theirs. Going up there would be suicide.”
Even though she said that, Katie found herself tempted.
Ryan spoke up. “Wait for them to get weak at the end of the quest and then attack their boss.”
