Revenge is Sweet My Family Is Nothing
Chapter 15 Came to See the Competition
Katie remained composed, though her desire to leave this house was clear.

Melvin let out a cold laugh. “Fine, leave right now. I’d like to see how you manage without the Maddisons!”
Eddie couldn’t tolerate it anymore. That’s enough. Melvin! What are you even saying?”
“Eddie, just look! Katie is the one who wants to leave us. She’s the one pushing us away first!TM
Melvin’s eyes turned red as his emotions spiraled out of control.
He had already swallowed his pride today, yet Katie still wanted to walk away. Did she expect her own brother to grovel before her to make her stay?
Sally quickly stepped in to calm the tension. “Melvin, don’t get upset. Katie was only kidding. If she doesn’t want to tutor me, it’s fine. Honestly. I’m already thankful just to have a tutor.”
Melvin glared harshly at Katie. “See how reasonable Sally is? Why can’t you be more like her? Have you ever thought about your own behavior?”
“Forget it, Melvin, let’s go. I still have a few questions about the game strategies to ask you.” Sally said, steering the conversation.
She then turned to Eddie and remarked. “Eddie, we’ll take our leave now.”
“Go ahead,” he replied.
Eddie noticed how considerate Sally was, and it softened his feelings slightly.
Sally wasn’t originally part of the Maddisons team, but due to team training, her academic performance had significantly declined.
In moments of family conflict, it’s crucial to step in and defuse the situation promptly.
Compared to Katie’s actions, Sally seemed much more understanding.
Looking at Katie, a trace of disappointment flickered in Eddie’s eyes. “Don’t let Melvin’s words get to you. You’re still part of our family
Katie replied steadily. “I think it’s best if I move out.”
Eddie’s face hardened “Katie, what do you really want? Can’t we go back to being a happy family like we used to“”
Go back
Katie’s eyes briefly reflected a weariness beyond her years, as if completely drained.

With a faint curl of her lips, she uttered, “No.”
With those cold words, she turned and walked directly to her room upstairs.

She would never return to her past self–someone who gave everything selflessly, only to be disregarded and ultimately abandoned.
Never again!
After the incident, Katie and her brothers entered a silent standoff at home.
They avoided speaking to each other for quite some time.
Oddly. Katie found comfort in the quiet, relieved to no longer deal with them.
Before long, however, the revival competition was approaching. It was scheduled for this Saturday.
Sally had been absent from school for several days, citing illness, though Katie knew she was actually preparing for the competition.
Katie continued her routine of eating alone and going to school on her own, seemingly unaffected.
One day, Eddie approached her and set a competition ticket on the table. “Go watch the game. this afternoon and support the family.”
Katie answered casually, “Got it.”
Her detached response, without even a single question about the team’s preparation, made Eddie feel an unexpected chill. In
contrast, Sally had skipped school entirely to focus on the competition, even taking official leave. Looking at her indifferent attitude, Eddie’s heart sank.
“Katie, one day, when you’re older, you’ll understand that we had your best interests at heart.”
Eddie didn’t say anything further and walked straight out of the hall.
Katie felt disgusted by his words, and her appetite vanished.
She set her spoon down, the idea of moving out growing stronger in her mind.
Looking at the competition ticket, she decided she would go after all.
She wanted to see for herself how Melvin’s team would perform without her contributions.
Srapping a photo of the ticket, she sent it to Ryan with a message. “I’m going to watch the competition this afternoon, so I won’t be able to play the game.”
They had originally planned to play games together over the weekend.

As he typed, someone nearby tried to peek at his phone but couldn’t catch a glimpse of the
conversation.
Elliot clutched his chest dramatically. “Come on, let me see! Don’t be so stingy!”
Ryan arched an eyebrow. “Do you want to lose your eyesight or what?”
“Ahem, no need to be so harsh! I’m just saying, if you feel bad about it, why not just compensate. her? What’s the point of sticking around her all the time?”
Ryan’s long fingers toyed with his phone, his expression unreadable.
After a pause, he finally said, Tm staying to support her, to help her rise from her lowest moments until she can live her life without any burdens.”
Elliot smirked and added playfully, “What, all the way until she grows up, falls in love, gets.
married, and has kids?”
Ryan’s brows furrowed slightly. He replied. “Yeah, something like that.”
Her parents had passed away, and her brothers proved to be untrustworthy and partial, forcing her to face her struggles alone.
Ryan switched topics. “Do you have tickets for the competition later this afternoon?”
“The revival competition? Are you interested in that as well? I thought your younger already secured a spot in the finals?” Elliot asked.
broth
“Enough with the nonsense. There’s something we need to finalize before the competition begins.”
Ryan glanced at the sky outside. At the very least, he would stay until Katie no longer needed him.
If her parents were still here, she wouldn’t be stuck in such a tough spot.
Katie headed straight to the venue for the team competition.
She noticed a crowd of fans outside, waving signs to show support, including those cheering for the MadSky Team.
There were even supporters cheering for Sally.
Recently, thanks to the efforts of Clifford’s Entertainment Company, Sally gained some fame as an internet celebrity
She was young, charming, and had a knack for acting innocent to win people over.
This strategy worked particularly well in live–streaming platforms.

merchandise, share team updates online, and take an active role in managing the fan community.
Without showing any emotion, she looked away and walked inside with her ticket.
After taking her seat, her eyes wandered to the stage, and for a moment, she lost herself in thought.

In her previous life, she had been the one sitting there, turning the tables to win the revival competition.
It had been a hard–fought win.
The opposing team was incredibly strong, and their performance was consistent.
This was in stark contrast to Melvin, who, despite his talent, often crumbled under pressure, causing the team’s rhythm to fall apart.
He was also arrogant, with too much pride to heed others‘ advice.
Soon, the teams participating in the competition started taking their places.
The fans of both sides erupted into cheers, each trying to outshout the other.
Katie sat calmly in her seat, noticing Melvin and Sally leading the team, both wearing matching uniforms and looking like they were part of the same family.
However, she couldn’t help but observe that Melvin’s face looked troubled.
She also realized that Eddie and Clifford were absent,
What was going on? Weren’t Eddie and Clifford supposed to be training together and then joining the revival competition?
On stage, Melvin’s face clearly showed his frustration. He hadn’t anticipated that Eddie and Clifford would suddenly pull out, throwing his plans off track.
Sally tried to reassure him, saying, “Melvin, Eddie, and Clifford had urgent matters with their companies and couldn’t make it. They are both CEOs, not professional players.
Melvin retorted, “What do you know? We’ve trained together for so long, and now they’re not here. How are we supposed to compete?”
“Melvin, our team is full of talented members. We’ve trained hard together, and we’ll work well as
tram. We won’t lose.” Sally reassured him
Despite Melvin’s cold response, she continued to offer comforting words.
She knew that, in moments like this, standing by Melvin and showing her unwavering support would only strengthen his appreciation for her.

Melvin’s frustration flared up once more, but there was nothing he could do about it right then. Suddenly, a thought struck him, and he blurted out, “Sally, don’t you think it would have been better if Katie were here to compete instead?”
Sally’s smile faltered, and a wave of irritation surged within her. Why did he have to mention Katic again!
Hadn’t all my efforts, taking time off to train for the competition, been enough? Was Katie, who had done nothing, still better than me in his eyes?
Out of the corner of her eye, Sally suddenly noticed a familiar figure in the crowd.
“Melvin, Katie is here to watch our competition!”
Katie noticed Sally’s gaze fall on her just as the fans around her began to cheer loudly.
The moment Melvin spotted her, his eyes brightened.
She had actually come.
