Katie stood in the corridor, exchanging a glance with Melvin.

Melvin looked a bit uncomfortable and decided to speak first, “Are you here to make fun of us? Is it funny? Do you enjoy watching others mock our team?”
Katie’s expression was cold. “It’s just that your skills fall short compared to the others.”
At that moment, the HighPeak Team arrived backstage as well.
Katie turned to the captain who had been rude earlier. “I need to ask you something. Are you orphan?”
The HighPeak Team’s captain frowned, confused. “What do you mean by that?”
“Just what it sounds like. With that filthy mouth of yours, I figured your parents must have passed away, and no one ever taught you any manners.”
“Yo brt You’re asking for trouble. Say that again!”
Katie’s words immediately enraged the captain.
She replied coldly. “If your team loses in the next match, you will owe me a public apology in front of the reporters for insulting my parents earlier!”
“Huh, we’re going to lose? You’re just dreaming!”
Katie retorted, “What, are you scared to admit it? Feeling guilty and worried?”
Her taunts worked, and the other side took the bait. “Alright, if you lose, your captain will have to apologize publicly for what was said earlier!”
The HighPeak Team stormed off angrily.
Katie stayed composed, confident she knew how to win.
But the atmosphere within the MadSky Team became a little tense.
Melvin snapped, “If we lose, you can apologize yourself. You’re not even on the team, so who gave you the right to make decisions?”
“I only wanted that guy to apologize publicly, nothing more.”
Just as Katie finished speaking. Eddie rushed in, covered in dust. “Katic, I’m so happy to see you here Finally, we’re all together as a family.”
Katie bit her lip, staying silent.

Melvin’s expression tightened. “I don’t know. I scolded her a bit and she ran off

The rest of the team chimed in. “Melvin, Sally just wanted to win so badly, that’s why she acted. impulsively. We can’t really blame her for that.”
“Yeah. Melvin. Sally is such a dedicated person. She often stays up late training on her computer. She’s really putting in a lot of work.”
“Melvin, what you said earlier was a bit harsh.”
Melvin felt quite wronged.
What did they mean by him being too harsh?
It was Sally who insisted on joining the competition. Without any natural talent, she’d have to work extra hard.
But the truth was, Sally didn’t have the talent.
When she messed up earlier, as the captain, couldn’t he say something about it?
Katie supported the team members‘ words, “That’s right, Sally is working so hard, even sacrificing her study time. Melvin, how could you scold her like that? You’re about to lose the game, and now her self–esteem is at stake.”
Melvin felt his anger rising.
What was going on here?
Everyone was blaming him, but it was clearly Sally’s fault!
Eddie also shot a look at him. “Melvin, you need to change your attitude. In the past, Katie was always so kind to you, but now you’ve hurt her feelings with your scolding. Do you really want Sally to be driven away too?”
Melvin tried to explain, “Eddie, this is completely different. It’s clearly Sally’s own
“Enough. I saw the live streaming just now. You led everyone into a trap. As the team leader, you need to take responsibility. Sally just made a mistake because she was too anxious.”
Melvin felt a wave of helplessness.
No matter what he said, Eddie wouldn’t believe him!
Katie observed coldly from the side, finally letting Melvin experience the feeling of being misunderstood and slandered–unable to defend himself.
Does it feel good?
Eddie tried calling Sally, but she didn’t pick up.

Katie spoke up, saying, “If we want to win this competition. I need to be in charge of all the decisions from here on out.”
Melvin immediately disagreed, asking, “Why should that be?”
Katie’s gaze turned dark. “Because I have a strategy to win.
She remained calm as she outlined her thoughts and plans.
After observing the game earlier, she had a good sense of the MadSky Team’s strengths. They had trained together in the past, so she knew them well.
“Everyone talks big, but just because you have some talent doesn’t mean you’re unbeatable. You haven’t been training lately. What’s your guarantee for victory?” Melvin remarked.
Katie tightened her lips. “If you don’t follow my orders, I’ll drop out.”
Melvin scoffed. “Go ahead and quit then. Do you really think you’re that essential?”
Eddie quickly intervened. “If we don’t have another plan, maybe we should follow Katie’s lead for
now.
Melvin was reluctant but had no arguments left. In the end, there was no other option.
The competition quickly got underway again.
Katie took Sally’s spot.
This had once been her seat in her
past life.
As she put on her headphones, her resolve strengthened. This time, she wasn’t competing just to impress Melvin.
She was fighting for her own sake.
The temporary switch in the MadSky Team sparked a bit of chatter.
Ryan stood by the second–floor window, observing the girl who was fully focused on the competition.
Elliot commented, “Didn’t you say she was just here to watch? But in the end, she competition. Even though her family has treated her so unfairly, they still matter to her.”
ned the
“You’re mistaken. Now, she’s doing this for herself.”
Ryan quickly understood why she decided to compete.
It wasn’t to please Melvin.
The brilliance she showed now was her own.

with the MadSky Team, including changes in personnel. The new member is somewhat unfamiliar. How strong could they be? The team’s situation looks uncertain at the moment. How will they manage to turn things around?”
Katie entered the game, choosing the same class as Sally, a long–range gunner.
This allowed her to quickly get up to speed.
She had planned her position, waiting for the enemy to make a move.
However, at a critical moment, Melvin unexpectedly charged out, revealing their position.
Katic silently cursed, “What are you doing?”
“Don’t worry about it, I can handle this!”
Melvin charged forward, eager to prove himself, but ended up getting pinned down by the
enemy.
Katie wasn’t surprised in the least.
She quickly gave orders. “Support me, everyone else stick to the plan.”
She darted out from behind the high wall, cannon in hand, and fired at the enemy.
Her movements flowed smoothly between the buildings, launching attacks that disrupted the enemy’s rhythm.
The host was visibly excited in his commentary, “Wow, this gunner player’s skills are amazing! Her movements are incredibly precise, not at all what you’d expect from a newcomer, more like a veteran player.
“She just dodged that ultimate attack. How did she know what the enemy would do?
“Look at this. She rushed out, jumped into the air, and hit a Twelve–strike Combo! That’s a move only the former legend King could pull off. How can a newcomer do this? It’s unbelievable!”
The entire hall exploded with excitement, the energy was electric!
King was a legend for everyone watching!
Even though King retired years ago, his legacy still lives on.
What could the connection be between this new player and the legendary King?
