She sniffled, her voice weak, and she seemed especially pitiful.
Eddie felt a bit of sympathy for her earnest demeanor. “Sally, it’s Melvin who overstepped and made Katie upset. It’s not your fault.”
Melvin was caught off guard, feeling increasingly frustrated.
He watched Sally’s sorrowful face but didn’t feel much sympathy. He regretted letting her join. the team.
