Melvin had always been full of pride. Even after apologizing, he never imagined that he would be slapped by Katie.
He felt slightly awkward.

Melvin glanced at Sally and responded with confidence, “Sally was very emotional just now. What if Katie’s words upset her and she actually hurt herself? What would happen then?”
In his mind, he had done nothing wrong.
The issue lay with Katie. She was too cold and lacked any sense of familial love.

Melvin stepped forward, blocking Katie’s way. “Eddie is right. You’re still too young to understand. Don’t let yourself be fooled by the sweet talk of men outside.”
Eddie glared at Ryan with intense hostility. “If you dare to take Katie away by force, I’ll call the police immediately and report you for abducting a minor.”
Katie’s anger flared. “He’s not kidnapping me! I chose to leave on my own.
She couldn’t bear to stay with the Maddisons any longer.

Eddie looked at her with a mix of frustration and concern. “Katie, I know you’re in a rebellious phase right now. No matter what I say, you won’t listen. But one day, you’ll realize I’m doing this for your own good.”
Ryan let out a mocking laugh. “For her good? Is that why every time there’s a disagreement, force her to back down? Why do you let her endure the pain, take the hits, and expect her to understand? If this is what you call ‘good‘, why don’t you want it for yourselves instead?”

The lawyer intervened. Sir, Katie has requested a personal safety order. You are now required to stay away from her for six months. If you do anything to harm her, you will face a lawsuit!”
Melvin was taken aback, speechless, and overwhelmed by both anger and guilt.
Eddie felt a deep sense of defeat.
At that moment, he truly understood that he might lose his sister.
He spoke quietly. “Katie, in the past. I wasn’t good enough and caused you pain. But I swear it won’t happen again. Can we avoid making a scene like this?”
Katie slowly raised her head, her gaze steady and sharp. “Let’s just forget it.”
There’s no need for this.
With that, she turned and walked away.
Eddie gulped, his eyes softening, realizing that he had indeed hurt Katie deeply.
That’s why she doesn’t trust his words anymore, and she refuses to go back to their family

But he had reacted that way because Sally had pulled out a razor to harm herself.

Melvin found her explanation absurd. “Do you really think self–harming will calm her down? You’re just emotionally blackmailing her!”
Sally froze, unsure how Melvin had become so perceptive.
Eddie stepped in. “Enough, Melvin. Don’t say too much.”
“Eddie, I never forced Sally to hurt herself or pressured Katie into joining the team. It was her decision that led to all of this!
Melvin’s unease deepened.
Sally hunched her shoulders, looking remorseful. “Melvin, I’m sorry. I acted without thinking and only resorted to this in desperation. I know I was wrong. I shouldn’t have done that. I’ll apologize to Katie and explain everything.
Seeing her sincere apology, Melvin’s tone softened. “Alright, just don’t do something like this again.”
But as he thought of Katie walking away, a wave of sadness washed over him.
Sally quickly wiped her tears and smiled, returning to her usual sweet and cheerful demeanor.
But beneath the surface, she held a grudge against Katie.
If she could use self–harm today, she could have definitely won Melvin back and caused a ritt between him and Katie
all because of the sudden appearance of the school doctor!
Her eyes shifted, and she asked, “Eddie, what’s the relationship between Katie and that school doctor”

Melvin frowned. “Does that school doctor really think he has a chance with Katie?”
Eddie’s eyes turned icy. “I’ll have someone bring her back, and that school doctor will be removed from Hillcrest,”
The Maddisons are not someone to mess with.
Sally’s eyes gleamed with thought. Without the school doctor advising her, Katie would once again become the vulnerable target she used to be.
But soon, the person sent out returned with news. “Mr. Eddie, we couldn’t locate Ms. Katie or the doctor.”
Only then did Eddie begin to feel a sense of panic. Katie is missing?
