Katie stared at the teddy bear, remembering that she had never agreed to take part in the finals.
This teddy bear had once been her favorite brand.
The giant bear was a limited edition and very difficult to find.
In her previous life, she finally got it because Sally needed the teddy bear for a live stream giveaway.
Melvin forced herself to give the teddy bear to Sally.
In the end, the teddy bear ended up with a so–called fan, but this person was a creep who cut the teddy bear apart, stuffed dead mice inside, and sent it back.
When Katic saw the teddy bear, it reminded her of the horrible end from her previous life.
She had almost forgotten about the incident, but it always seemed to come back to haunt her.
One of Katie’s fans nearby asked, “Is Katie really going to participate in the finals? I heard she’s not on the team list!”
Eddie answered softly, “The list hasn’t been updated yet. Katie is a member of our family, so of course, she’ll be part of the team. Plus, the finals are after the college entrance exams, so her studies won’t be impacted.”
“How does she manage to excel in both school and gaming?”
“I wish I had so many brothers who care about me like that!”
Katie felt a deep sense of irony upon hearing these words.
After betraying her so many times, now they thought a teddy bear would make things right?
She responded coldly, “Eddie, I don’t like teddy bears anymore. Didn’t
you know?”
Eddie’s face stiffened slightly. “Really? I remember you used to like them.”
She responded, “That was back then. I’m in high school now, so my tastes have definitely changed.”
Once she finished speaking. Eddie’s eyes betrayed his discomfort.
He felt a deep sense of guilt. He hadn’t been a responsible enough brother to even notice that she no longer liked teddy bears.
Seeing his discomfort, Sally stepped in and said, “Eddie, you’re so busy with work and have to take care of everything for your younger siblings. It’s understandable that you might forget some

Eddie realized that she was trying to give him an out, and his heart softened a little.

Katie often felt that he was unfair to her, but Sally was so understanding that it was hard not to be kind to her.
He spoke up. “Sally, you’re part of our family now. I remember what you like and I will also give you surprises in the future.”
Sally’s face lit up with a pleasant surprise, then she turned to Katie. “You should accept this gift. After all, what you don’t want is something others envy and can’t even get.”
Katie glared at Sally, realizing that this woman intended to take everything from her.
Huh.
She shoved the teddy bear into Sally’s hands. “Here, take it.”
After doing this, she turned and walked away.
Late apologies were worth nothing.
She wouldn’t be influenced by these small gestures.
“Katie, where are you going?”
Eddie quickly caught up, I know you’ve been hurt all this time. I’ve been too caught up in work and didn’t consider your feelings. I promise I won’t make that mistake again.”
After hearing this, Katie felt it wasn’t worth it.
It wasn’t worth giving up everything for someone from her previous life.
Children might get treats for crying, but she didn’t want that treat.
She remained composed. That’s enough, don’t follow me.”
Eddie stepped in front of her, “No, you need to come back with me today. You can’t go with that school doctor. I spoke with the principal today and arranged for Melvin to move out. This way, everything is within the rules, and you won’t be at risk.”
Katie’s expression darkened. She had expected this outcome.
“Katie, I’m your guardian now, not that school doctor. There are rumors circulating at school. I can let you stay home and prepare for your exams.”
Katie glanced down, concealing the frustration in her eyes.
In a raspy tone, she muttered, “So, is this what you meant when

Here it was again. For my own good!
Then why was she abandoned and met such a tragic end in her previous life?
With a stern expression, she moved forward, the only thing keeping her going was the countdown to the college entrance exam.

She couldn’t make trouble for Ryan. Even though nothing happened today, if Eddie had taken it the wrong way, things might have turned out differently.
Once in the car, she texted Ryan. I’m heading home now, we can talk later.”
Eddie let out a breath of relief when he saw her step into the car.
It was clear that Katie was genuinely upset. She revealed her true feelings the moment he let his guard down today.
He realized he’d have to pay more attention to favored Sally over her or treated her unfairly.

When the group arrived back at the Maddison Residence, Katie was the first to get out of the car, completely ignoring everyone around her.
Melvin watched her retreating figure and could only sigh in resignation.
Sally stepped out next, clutching a teddy bear in her arms. “Eddie. I’m sure Katie will come to understand your intentions, she said softly.
Seeing her obedient and thoughtful demeanor, Eddie couldn’t help but respond. “If only she could be as well–behaved and understanding as you, I’d be so thankful.”
Sally lowered her head, maintaining her demure and gentle expression.
That evening during dinner, Katie noticed that Melvin wasn’t present, only Eddie and Sally were at the table.
She ate her meal in silence, then got ready to return to her room. On her way out, sight of Eddie clutching his stomach, clearly in discomfort.

She remembered that he’d always had stomach issues, needing proper care and medication to manage it.
In her previous life, she had poured her heart and soul into caring for Eddie’s stomach, but in the end, all her efforts couldn’t compare to a single bowl of soup from Sally.
The memory of that moment was etched in her mind. Eddie angrily smashes the nutritious meal she had prepared, only to hold the plain soup made by Sally with an expression of gratitude.

As she walked away, Eddie watched her retreating figure, feeling a pang of emptiness in his chest.
In the past, whenever he showed signs of stomach trouble, she would fuss over him, her worry evident as she stayed close, trying to help.
Now, as he silently endured the discomfort, one thought lingered in his mind.
Did Katie no longer care about me at all?
It felt as though someone had stabbed him straight in the heart. He stood up and walked out of the dining room, his footsteps slightly shaky.
Sally was left sitting there alone, sensing that Eddie’s behavior toward her had shifted a little.
No, she needed to come up with a way to fix things.
Katie went back to her room, her thoughts drifting to Eddie’s aching stomach.
She forced herself to remain calm. Eddie didn’t need her concern. Wasn’t the plain soup Sally gave him enough?
She grabbed her phone and typed a message to Ryan, “Did my brother cause you any problems at school today?”
Almost instantly, Ryan called her. His tone was icy as he said, “I’ve already gathered proof of them beating you. The lawyer is here. What could possibly go wrong?”
Katie chuckled to herself. No wonder Melvin had been thrown out
“If they dare to bother you again, I’ll come and get you right away,” Ryan remarked.
Katie bit her lip and asked, “Why are you so kind to me?”
The moment the question slipped out, she instantly wished she hadn’t said it.
