Katie’s thoughts drifted to Leo, the charming heartthrob at school. He had transferred from Thalindor.
A rich kid from Cloudspire, it seemed like he’d gotten into some trouble at his previous school and came here to lay low.
Leo was the type to show off–driving luxury cars, wearing designer clothes, and obsessed with gaming.
In Katie’s past life, after Sally took her place and won the championship, Leo had pursued Sally and they even started dating.
Katie chuckled lightly and shoved the love letter into her desk drawer, not even bothering to open it.
She didn’t even bring up the topic of exchanging contact information.
Sally, visibly annoyed, couldn’t help but ask, “Katie, aren’t you going to read it?”
“It’s not like this is the first time I’ve received one.”
The last time she’d gotten love letters was back in elementary school, long before her parents‘ accident, long before Sally entered her life.
Sally’s discomfort was evident. She was bothered. What was there to be so proud of? Katie’s sudden transformation had her uneasy.
Was Katie really planning to steal Leo from her?
After school, Katie packed her bag and left without hesitation.
Sally lingered, eventually going over to Katie’s desk and taking all the love letters.
Katie, however, headed straight to the infirmary.
She’d planned to surprise Ryan, but when she arrived, he was nowhere to be found.
Pulling out her phone, she texted him, “I got my results back, top ten! I might actually make it into Thalindor University!”
She was excited and eager to share the news with him first.
After sending the message, Katie waited, looking forward to Ryan’s response.
“Katie, I heard you did really well on your exams. Congratulations,” Eddie said.

Eddie handed her a gift box. “I got you something to celebrate your great scores. Didn’t you once say you liked this brand of jewelry?”
Katie glanced at the gemstone necklace inside the box.
Was this his attempt to make up for the Verdant Jewel necklace he had given away?
At that moment, Sally walked over and saw the necklace. Her face quickly betrayed her jealousy.
“Such a beautiful necklace,” Sally said, her tone dripping with envy. “Katie, you should wear it and show Eddie.”
Katie raised an eyebrow. “I don’t like it.”
Eddie, looking awkward, immediately offered, “If you don’t like it, I can exchange it. Which kind would you prefer?”
After Katie rejected the Verdant Jewel necklace, Eddie had gone out of his way to get her a new one. Surely this should make up for it?
Katie could see that Eddie was trying to make things right, but a necklace wasn’t going to erase the hurt she felt.

Sally noticed Eddie’s shift in attitude. Was he really trying to smooth things over with Katie?
This wasn’t what she had expected.
Sally quickly added, “Katie, Eddie’s a clueless guy. How’s he supposed to know what kind of jewelry girls like? You don’t know how jealous I am of you.”
Katie shot her a look of impatience. “Then why don’t you try making it into the top ten too?”
Enough with the fake act. Stop pretending to be helpless!
Sally’s eyes filled with tears. “I didn’t do well this time. If it wasn’t for Belinda, I wouldn’t have scored so poorly.”
Eddie’s expression softened. “I know, it’s not your fault. Let’s go. I’ll take you both to a nice dinner to celebrate.”
Eddie quickly tried to shift the focus, clearly flustered.
Sally’s expression faltered for a moment. She hadn’t done well on the exam, so what was there to celebrate?
In the end, it was really just a celebration for Katie.
She was feeling a bit irritated. “Katie, how did you improve so much? Do you have some kind of

Katie remained unmoved. “The shortcut is putting your energy into studying, not into playing
games.
Sally’s eyes welled up again. “But Katie, you still get so many love letters.”
Eddie immediately asked, “What do you mean?”
Sally spoke up, “Katie’s so popular now. Even students from other schools are asking about her. They want to exchange contact details!”
Eddie’s brow furrowed. Remembering Ryan, he gave a warning. “Katie, you’re still young. Your focus should be on your studies. Don’t get distracted by other things.”
Katie leaned back in her seat lazily, responding with a
nonchalant “Mm–hmm.”
She wasn’t interested in any of this.
Sally, seeing Eddie’s lack of reaction. started to feel
Eddie was clearly acting differently
Eddie glanced at her. “Sally, just do your best. There’s still time before the college entrance exams. No one will distract you.”
Sally felt frustrated. Her grades had dropped because of the team situation. Why wasn’t the Maddisons helping her?
The Verdant Jewel necklace she had received was even being taken back!
Eddie’s change in attitude toward Katie was clear, and she had to stop iL
The car pulled up to a fancy restaurant.
Katie stepped out with little enthusiasm. With Sally and Eddie’s faces, she might as well have stayed home and studied!
Sally’s eyes lit up when she saw the restaurant. “This place! Eddie, you’re so unfair! I asked you to bring me here before, and you refused.”
Katie glanced at the restaurant.
In her past life, this place had been very exclusive, a high–status symbol that required a membership. Many wealthy people flaunted their membership as a way to show off.
It was probably still fairly new.
Eddie sighed. “I was really busy before. But today, I’m taking you both here.”
“I’m just riding on Katie’s coattails, but I’m happy,” Sally said, sneaking out her phone to snap a

Eddie glanced at Katie and noticed how calm she was compared to Sally’s excitement.
As Katie entered the restaurant and waited for the elevator, she caught a glimpse of someone on the second floor.
Her gaze froze. It looks like Ryan!
She thought she might’ve been mistaken, but the profile really did resemble him.
And standing next to him was a stunning woman with long black hair and legs.
Katie glanced for a moment before quickly averting her eyes, her heart racing.
She had just texted him, but there was no reply.
Is she on a date?
Her thoughts grew more complicated. Ryan was so good–looking, had a great job–of course, people would be interested in him.
But she had asked him before if he had a girlfriend, and he had said no.
Had things changed that quickly?
Katie distractedly entered the VIP room. She checked her phone again–still no reply from Ryan.
Is he too busy to respond?
“Katie, what’s wrong? Rowan is video calling you! Hurry up, he is usually so busy.”
Katie snapped out of her thoughts and saw Eddie holding his phone. The video call had already connected.
On the screen was Rowan, his serious face radiating authority even through the phone.
She walked over quietly. “Rowan.”
She greeted him, then fell silent.
The atmosphere quickly turned chilly.
In the past, Katie had always been the one to break the silence and act sweet around Rowan. But in this life, Rowan had kicked her out of the family and cut off her living allowance.
She had no desire to pretend anymore.
Rowan frowned. “Katie, I know your grades have improved, but don’t get too cocky. Sally’s grades have dropped a lot. You need to help her more. After all, we are family.”
Katie scoffed His words were almost identical to Eddie’s

Rowan, as the decision–maker, had always been strict with his siblings. He’d heard how Katie had distanced herself from the family out of spite.
Katie slowly lifted her gaze toward Rowan through the screen. “I refuse.”
She wasn’t going to help.
Rowan immediately lost his temper. “Say
