The doctor’s assumption was based on experience. When a girl of Lisa’s age suffered violence, the culprits were usually either her father, her violent boyfriend, or school bullies. More often than not, the first possibility was the most common.
Looking at Lisa’s delicate and obedient appearance, she didn’t seem like the type to be dating some violent boyfriend.
“It wasn’t,” Lisa whispered, her face pale as she shook her head.
The doctor frowned. “Are you of legal age? If not, we need to inform your parents before deciding whether to report this to the authorities.
Parents!
At the mention of them. Lisa thought of her mother, who despised her to the core, and her father, who couldn’t care less. They would never involve themselves in this.
“That won’t be necessary. Thank you, Lisa said politely.
The doctor could tell her home situation was complicated and didn’t push further. Instead, he explained her injuries and gave her instructions on how to care for them. Finally, he said, “I’d recommend you stay in the hospital for observation. You hit your head when you fell, and you have a mild concussion.”
Lisa still refused. “No, thanks.”
The doctor frowned and said. “Miss, a head injury isn’t something to take lightly-
“I don’t have any money,” Lisa finally admitted in a low voice.
The doctor was momentarily speechless.
Lisa hesitated before asking, “Could you tell me how much my medical bill will be?”
Even though she was the young lady of the Olsens, her life was pitiful compared to Tiffany’s extravagant spending. She had no allowance and she even had to cover her own school lunches.
She had managed to save up a little from tutoring, but it wasn’t much. She wasn’t sure if she could afford the hospital fees.
“That’s what you’re worried about?” The doctor chuckled. “You don’t have to stress over that. Your savior has already covered the costs.”
Lisa was stunned.
“Relax. He might lack virtue and love, but the one thing he doesn’t lack is money. The doctor winked at her. “You could stay here for another two days, and I’d just put it on his tab. How about that?”
“No, thank you.” Lisa shook her head gratefully. “I need to go home
Even though Julius had furiously told her to get lost, if she actually disappeared for too long. Tiffany would definitely stir up.
some trouble for her.
Since she still wasn’t in a position to break away from the Olsens yet, it was best to endure while waiting for the day she could. finally leave.
“You really are- Then he relented. “Fine, Just remember everything I told you. I’ll write you a prescription–pick up the medicine before you leave. I help prevent scarring.”
“Thank you” Lisa hesitated before asking. Do you know the man who saved me? I’d like to thank him.”
When she had enough money, she planned to pay him back for the medical expenses.
“No idea. To her surprise, the doctor answered without hesitation. “And honestly, knowing someone like him would be nothing short of a lifetime of bad luck.”

Lasa was confused to hear that,
The doctor studied her thoughtfully. To be honest, I would’ve expected him to just step on the gas and run you over. Sending you to the hospital is not his style at all. You’re sure you don’t know him?”
Lisa Tooked bewildered. “I don’t.”
She hadn’t even gotten a glimpse of her so–called savior.
“Good. It’s better that way, the doctor said seriously. “Don’t go looking for him, either.
“He may have saved you, but he’s not a good person.”
After leaving the hospital, Lisa stopped by a convenience store nearby. When she came out, she was carrying a small plastic. bag. Inside were the prescribed medicine, a calendar, and a pen.
She sat down on a bench outside the store and flipped through the calendar before circling a date with the pen.
Three months and seven days from now.
By then, she would be free from the Olsens
Lisa, still weak from her injuries, dragged herself all the way back to the neighborhood where Olsen Mansion was located. Just as she entered the community, a car behind her suddenly blared its horn.
“Hey!” The car window rolled down, revealing a handsome face brimming with defiance. Nathan raised a brow at her. “Ignoring me, huh? Got a death wish or something?”
Lisa greeted the man with a low voice, “Nathan.”
“Nathan, is that your sister? Wait, no, that can’t be.” The guy in the passenger seat leaned forward, studying Lisa. T’ve seen your sister before. She doesn’t look like this.”
“You saw Tiffany before, Nathan muttered, frowning at Lisa’s disheveled appearance. “What the hell did you do to yourself? You looked like a freak! You’re embarrassing the family. If Mom finds out, she’s gonna lose it.”
The guy in the passenger seat was Nathan’s friend–William Lloyd. He didn’t seem bothered at all. In fact, he was grinning. “Oh, I get it now. She’s that sister you guys brought back from the countryside, right? Man, why are you being so harsh on her?”
He opened the car door and reached out to grab Lisa’s hand. “Hey, how long are you planning to walk? Your house is kinda far away. Hop in.”
Nathan scoffed. “That filthy girl is not getting in my car–I just bought this.”
“Stop being petty. She’s your sister, Come on, . get in,” William said.
Before she could refuse, William had already pushed her into the car. Nathan frowned but didn’t stop him.
Instead of returning to the passenger seat, William slid into the back with Lisa. “Your name’s Lisa, right? Nathan’s mentioned. you before.”
Lasa kept her head down and remained silent,
You’re so shy,” William chuckled.
He leaned in slightly and casually rested his hand on Lisa’s shoulder. “You should come out and have fun with us more often. Make some friends, you know?”
Lisa bit her lip and said, “Don’t touch me
William pretended not to hear her and slid his hand under the hem of her shirt. His fingers brushed against the s her waist, and he shuddered slightly.

Just as he was about to go further, Lisa’s eyes flashed with fury. She slapped him across the face, hard. “Stop the car! Let me out!” she shouted, She didn’t even bother looking to Nathan for help–she knew he wouldn’t lift a finger for her.
“What the hell!” Nathan flinched at the sound of the slap, then turned around furiously. “Why’d you hit him?”
“Let me out of the car!” Lisa demanded. “Open the door!”
Nathan’s patience snapped. He slammed on the brakes, pulling the car to a sharp stop by the roadside. Before Lisa could get out on her own, he yanked the door open and dragged her out roughly.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” Nathan snapped coldly. “Why did you hit my friend?”
Lisa’s already injured body screamed in pain from his rough grip. Her face turned deathly pale as cold sweat dripped down her forehead
“Quit acting.” Nathan sneered. “I just pulled you a little–don’t put on this weak little act. Apologize to William right now, or I jswear, you’ll regret it.”
