“I can’t avoid it.” Lisa lowered her head and said softly, “And I don’t dare to resist Mother.”

“That’s why I’m letting this go this time. Mario replied. “Make sure your wounds don’t get wet for now. When you have time, go to the hospital and get some ointment to treat your scar.”
Lisa nodded but had no intention of going to the hospital.
She simply couldn’t afford it
Ever since she returned to the Olsens, she didn’t even dare to fall sick. If she caught a cold and used flu medicine from the house, she’d be called a thief right to her face.
“What’s going on with you and William Mario finally asked as he finished packing up.
Lisa answered, “He molested me.”
Mario sighed. “I see. Just stay put and behave. Don’t make Mom angry again, and don’t get involved with any other men.
Lisa obediently agreed.
Only then did Mario’s tightly furrowed brows ease a little. He waved her off. You can go now.”
“Thank you, Mario.
The moment Lisa left Mario’s room, the docile mask she wore immediately vanished and was replaced by an icy coldness.
Things are the same in this life.
Mario might seem like he was protecting her and treating her nicely. In reality, he only saw her as a commodity to be bannered.
The Olsens might appear glamorous on the surface, but even the grandest families have their struggles. Their company had been in decline for years, and they were far from the powerhouse they once were. Their polished facade was just for show.
That was why a marriage alliance was inevitable for the Olsens. Of course, they wouldn’t send Tiffany into the tiger’s den, so Lisa became the best option. This was why their father, Bernard Olsen, and Mario had insisted on bringing Lisa back despite the objections of the rest of the family.
To them, Lisa’s greatest value was her face.
In her previous life, she had been completely oblivious to all of this. She genuinely believed Mario saw her as his sister and that he truly cared for her. So, she listened to his every word without question.
Lisa’s fingers trembled before clenching tightly.
Three more months. Just three more months. Soon, I will finally be free.
Due to the leaked song. Julius’s team was in complete chaos. They had barely managed to salvage the situation by spending a fortune to commission a new lead single from an experienced composer. However, when the new album was released, it was met with nothing but ridicule.
The album itself wasn’t bad–but only in the absence of comparison. Unfortunately, Kiley had just dropped two high–quality songs back–to–back, with the most recent one becoming an overnight sensation, completely overshadowing Julius.
Julius’s fans, once notorious for their arrogance and aggressive online behavior, now kept their heads down. Some even outright left the fandom as they felt that Julius was simply brushing them off with his new music.
Given everything that had happened, it was no surprise that Julius appeared drained and dispirited at public events. Meanwhile, Riley–riding the high of his sudden success–was in excellent spirits. He practically radiated confidence.

He was barely in his early 20s. Having his hair dyed in pastel pink and dressed in a white suit, he stood out in any crowd. People swarmed around him, showering him with compliments, which he accepted without hesitation.
Irene patted Julius on the shoulder. “Don’t let it get to you. He’s just a kid who got lucky for now. He has no real threat to your
Julius, however, had something else on his mind. “Still no leads on that person?”
His manager hesitated before realizing what he meant. “You mean ‘Alora Hill? Nothing. Riley’s team is tight–lipped; they refuse to reveal anything. Honestly, I’m starting to doubt if this person even exists.”
“If they don’t exist, then why would Riley credit Alora Hill‘ as the songwriter?”
The manager frowned in thought. “The lyrics and composition of that song were top–notch. Maybe ‘Alora Hill‘ is just a pseudonym for some industry veteran? Why are you so fixated on this?”
“I don’t know,” Julius murmured. “I just have a feeling that this matters.”

Just then, a cheerful voice rang out. “Julius!” It was Riley approaching with a wine glass in hand while beaming. “Why are you drinking alone? Isn’t that boring? Come join the fun.”
Julius forced a smile. “You guys go ahead. I’ll pass
“I almost forgot to congratulate you on your new album Riley said. “I bought it the moment it dropped and listened to it several times
Julius’s smile nearly faltered “Really? Thanks”
“Actually, I listened to your new songs too. Very impressive. You have a bright future ahead of you,” Julius said. “Especially that song, “Nowhere to Return–the lyrics and melody are exceptional. I don’t think I’ve seen that songwriter’s name before. Would you mind introducing me? I’d love to meet them
Riley took a slow sip of champagne before saying, “Oh, you mean Alorn? She’s new. Doesn’t have any previous work. Also, she’s not fond of meeting people–sorry.”
Julius chuckled. “I just admire her work. It’s not like I’m trying to steal her away from you. No need to be so guarded.”
Riley shrugged. Julius, you’re misunderstanding me. I’ve never even met her myself”
Julius scrutinized kiley’s expression. He didn’t seem to be lying, which only deepened his confusion
Could it really be a pseudonym for an industry veteran–one even Riley didn’t knowk,
“Julius. I’m going to make a call,” Riley said while waving his phone. “Excuse me.”
Julius smiled. “Sure, go ahead.”
Riley walked all the way out to the balcony and redialed the number he had saved earlier.
Since the incident with William, Lisa had stayed in her room all the time and only ventured out late at night to find food. She wanted to avoid any encounters with the Olsens.
But tonight, there was a knock at her door. When she opened it, she found Peter, the gardener, standing there,
ving to reach you.”
“Ms. Lasa.” Peter said in a hushed voice. “It seems that someone is trying
Lisa took the phone he handed her and saw Riley’s name on the screen
“You can use the phone for now, Peter said. “Just give it back when you’re done. I’ll be in the garden trimming the hedges”
He then headed back outside. A voice called out, “Peter, why are you being so nice to Ms. Lisa Didn’t Oscar already tell us? She’s treated worse than a dog within the family. What’s the point in sucking up to her?”

“I’m not sucking up to her. I just think she’s pitiful,” Peter replied

Peter sighed. Look at the huge Olsen Mansion. Even the servants have their own quarters, yet Ms. Lisa is forced to live in a tiny storeroom. She’s already an adult, but they won’t even buy her a phone. She has to borrow mine just to make a call. Isn’t that pitiful?”
The others murmured in agreement. “It’s true. The Olsens are filthy rich–who’d believe their young lady lives like this?”
Peter sighed again. “I have a daughter about her age. I may not be wealthy, but I’d never let my child suffer like this. The Olsens are too cruel.”
“Shh! Do you want to lose your job?” someone warned.
Peter merely shook his head. They’re bound to face retribution sooner or later by treating Ms. Lisa cruelly.”
