“Oh no..“Tiffany said innocently. “It’s completely broken. I don’t think it can be fixed. Lisa, don’t be mad, okay? I’ll buy you a new one later!”
Lisa shoved her away. Tiffany stumbled and nearly fell.
She watched as Lisa carefully gathered the pile of broken parts carefully as if she were handling something incredibly precious.
“Lisa,” Tiffany said softly. “You’re not mad, are you? I didn’t do it on purpose.”
Lisa didn’t say a word. She turned and walked back to her room, slamming the door behind her.
Tiffany scoffed and brushed her hands calmly. “Funny. It’s just a piece of junk. Only you would treat something like that as
treasure.”

Lisa placed all the broken phone parts into an empty box. The next afternoon, she took it with her when she went out
Tiffany always had a car and driver waiting for her but Lisa didn’t have that luxury. She left the neighborhood on foot, bus, then transferred to the subway. By around 2:50 pm, she arrived at the agreed meeting place–Greencrest Park.
The park was part of a senior activity center, so most of the people there were elderly. It didn’t take Lisa long to spot the figure leaning by the pond.
The person was completely covered from head to toe like someone allergic to sunlight. His eyes were darting around. nervously. It was obvious that he was waiting for someone.
“Hello,” Lisa said as she approached. “I’m Alora”
The person scrutinized her from head to toe and asked, “Why are you wearing a hat and mask too? Are you some kind of celebrity?” His voice sounded muffled.
Then, he pulled off his hat and revealed his iconic pink hair. It was Riley.
“I’m not,” Lisa replied flatly, showing no excitement at meeting a pop star. She extended her hand. “Give me the money”
Riley frowned. “I am a top star, you know. Why aren’t you excited to meet me!
Lisa raised an eyebrow. “Stop spouting nonsense. Are you trying to avoid payment?
“It’s just 10,000 dollars. Why would I do that?” Riley said and handed over a thick envelope: “I just withdrew it from the ATM
Lisa opened the envelope and gave it a quick glance to check if the amount was correct. She then stuffed it into her pocket and turned to leave.
“Hey, hey, hey! Hold on!” Riley stepped in front of her, blocking the way. “You’re just gonna take the money and leave? 1 haven’t even said what I came to say!”
“Speak up.” Lisa said coolly
Riley mumbled, “You’re really something else. Fine. My agent wants to offer you a long–term deal. Would you be willing to become any exclusive composer and lyricist? We can discuss the pay
Lisa didn’t hesitate. “No.”
“Can’t you at least think about it?” Riley looked incredulous. “Why reject me like that? Our studio has nice employee benefits. You’re selling songs for money, aren’t you?”
Lisa replied, “I can’t guarantee I’ll always write at this level. Besides, I’m not interested in songwriting.”
Riley’s eyes widened. “You write that well and say you’re not interested? I think you’re showing off secretly

She had only learned songwriting and composing in the first place to win Julius’s favor. But now that she’d made up her mind. to leave the Olsens and cut ties with that so–called family what was the point in continuing?
If Julius found out that she was Alora, there was no telling what kind of chaos that would bring.
She wasn’t strong enough yet to face the Olsens head–on.
Lappreciate the offer, Lisa said, “but this isn’t the path I want. Can I go now?”
“You’re really not even going to think about it? Riley asked. “Julius even came to me, wanted to hire you or tear you apart?

Lisa froze
“You told him about the?”
“Nope.” Riley shrugged. “We’re rivals. Why would I help him? And besides, it’s not like I know that much about you.”
Lisa said, “If anyone else asks in the future, please don’t tell them anything. Goodbye.”
Riley stood there watching her leave
“Interesting.” he murmured while raising an eyebrow. “Alors, who are you, really?”
When Lisa got home, she went out to the garden looking for Peter.
However, she couldn’t find him after searching everywhere. Someone whispered to her, “Peter went to Oscar to settle his pay.”
“He hadn’t finished the job yet, right?”
The person just shook their head and refused to say more.
Lisa ran to Oscar’s headquarters, and sure enough, Peter was there. Alongside him stood Oscar and Julius.
“That’s it. You can leave now,” Oscar said. “We’ve paid you what you’re owed.”
Peter took the envelope and wanted to say something, but he stayed silent in the end.
“Wait” Lisa called out. “Didn’t we agree to sign a long–term contract? Why is he leaving now?”
Oscar gave her a sideways glance and mocked, “Oh, it’s Ms. Lisa. Such trivial matters aren’t worth troubling yourself over, are they
Lisa’s tone sharpened, “Why is he bring
“Ms. Lisa, are you really that clueless, or are you pretending to be?” Oscar sneered. “You’ve got an inappropriate relationship with the gardener. If we let him stay, you’ll do something to disgrace the family. I’ll be too late to clean up the mess by then.”
Lisa was stunned. “You guys think I’m involved with him?“.
How filthy must these people’s minds be to come up with something so vilet
“Ms. Lisa” Peter shook his head. “Forget it”
Lisa felt a chill wash over hier.
The only person in this house who had ever been kind to her was being driven out
“So reluctant to say goodbye, laul” Julius finally spoke with a sneer. “Lisa, you really are desperate, huh? At first, I didn’t believe Tiffany when she said keeping that man around would lead to trouble. But now that I see you like this… he really is your little lover, hi

“Mr. Julius” Peter could no longer hold back. “There’s nothing inappropriate between Ms. Lisa and me. She’s the same age as my daughter. Please don’t accuse us!”
Julius snerred. “Maybe you don’t have feelings for her, but who’s to say she doesn’t have feelings for you! She’s not exactly picky, after all”
“Peter.” Lisa took a deep breath. “Let’s go. I’ll walk you out”
There was no point in staying and listening to more of Julius’s filth
When they reached the front gate, Lisa whispered. “I’m sorry, Peter. I dragged you into this.”
Peter shook his head.
“You said before that if this job worked out long–term, you wouldn’t have to worry about your wife’s medical bills anymore. I’m so sorry. I cost you your job,”
“Ms. Lisa, this isn’t your fault. Peter sighed. “You’re clearly unhappy here. Haven’t you ever thought about leaving?
