Lisa was taken aback and asked, “Why would you say that?”

Because… Because… The old woman faltered, her thoughts slipping away. After a while, she murmured to herself, “What was it again? I can’t remember it…”
It seemed she had slipped back into confusion.
“It’s alright if you can’t remember. Lisa said gently
“Doesn’t matter–1 know she owes your the old lady said firmly. “If it weren’t for her, you wouldn’t have suffered so much.”
Her daughter–in–law quickly came over, smiling at Lisa. “Sorry about that, Lisa. Your great–aunt’s getting older. Sometimes she’s clearheaded, sometimes not. If she said anything odd, please don’t take it seriously
Lisa nodded, watching quietly as the old lady’s daughter–in–law gently led her away. But a sliver of doubt lingered in her chest.
Even if the old woman was confused, why would she suddenly bring up something so strange
“Lisa” Neil made his way through the crowd and stopped in front of her. He studied her for a moment before finally saying, “You’ve changed a lot.”
Lisa smiled faintly. “Have I?”
*About the engagement just now.” Neil asked, “What are you thinking?”
Lisa said, “Does what I think even matter?”
“Of course it does, Neil replied. “This engagement was originally between the two of us. If you hadn’t g have already been engaged by now. If you’re still willing-
gune missing, we might
Lisa tilted her head slightly. “Neil, everyone knows you’re about to get engaged to Tiffany. Don’t you think it’s inappropriate to say this to me now?”
She smiled and then walked past him once more. Her voice was soft as she said, “Let’s just say we weren’t meant to be
Neil stood there, taken aback, watching her walk away, completely at a loss for words.
The banquet hall was too noisy, and Lisa had no interest in dealing with the stares and whispers anymore. She slipped out to the garden–she’d already achieved what she came for tonight.
Standing beneath a wisteria–covered trellis, she let out a long breath
Moonlight was like water across the stone path, and the dim garden lights lit up the stone path. Lisa’s face looked dreamlike in that light, like she could just float away with the wind and disappear.
“So this is where you’ve been hiding. Took me a while to find you” A lazy, teasing voice sounded behind her. A hand appeared over her shoulder, offering a glass of champagne. “Drink?”
Lisa stepped back, putting some space between them, her brows furrowing. “Mr. William.”
“No need to be so formal,” William said with an easy grin. “Tm good friends with Nathan, just call me William. And relax, I didn’t say anything about what happened last time. You don’t have to worry about any gossip.”
This man really had no shame. He was the one who made the first move, but somehow, he twisted it into being Lisa’s fault.
“Didn’t Mario warn you about this? Lisa said coldly. “Otherwise, knowing your character, Mr. William, this gossip would’ve spread by now
William’s expression shifted for a moment, but he quickly regained his smile. “Why so hostile toward me? Are you still

hoping to fulfill that engagement with Neil Anyone with eyes can see that you have no standing in the Olsens. Marrying you and marrying Tiffany are two completely different things. Unless Neil’s lost his mind, there’s no way he’d choose you.”
Lisa snapped. “I don’t want to see you and Neil are two different things. Mr. William. We have nothing to talk about, you enjoy the moon. I’m leaving
William pulled her back, and Lisa’s back slammed into the wisteria trellis. She said angrily, “What are you doing?”
William smirked. “You really think you’re a rich heiress? Lisa, it’s your privilege that I take an interest in you. I suggest you be sensible, or—”
Lisa raised her hand to slap him, but William was quick to react, catching both of her wrists. Even though he was addicted to alcohol and sex, he was still a man in his prime, and Lisa was no match for him. She was soon pinned, unable to move.
“William, have you lost your mind?!” Lisa gritted her teeth. This is Olsen Mansion!”
William smirked. “I know. Today, the Olsens are announcing Tiffany and Neil’s engagement. How about we make it even more interesting with another piece of news?”
In a flash. Lisa understood.
William wasn’t just a notorious playboy in Arglonas; he was also known for his wives dying.
Despite being about the same age as Nathan, he had been married twice, and both wives either died from illness or in accidents. While people would never say it directly out of respect for his family, behind his back, many believed William was cursed to have his wife died.
William’s reputation had already hit rock bottom, and if it weren’t for his family’s influence, he wouldn’t have even been invited to this event.
So, what would someone with a tarnished reputation like William do when he saw his prey here?
Lisa fought with all her might, kicking William several times, but he still wouldn’t budge. They were all messed up from the struggle, and Lisa knew he was just stalling for time, so she just headbutted him,
