After witnessing the lively scene, everyone felt satisfied, brushing it off and heading back to the banquet hall.
Tiffany subtly bit her lip, silently cursing William for being such a useless fool.
With everything in his favor–the right time, the right place, the right people–William still managed to mess things up!
She glanced at Wesley, wondering who he was to make Bernard act so respectfully. Is this guy the VIP guest who Dad and Mario have personally greeted?
“Bernard, Maggie whispered. “Who exactly is this Mr. Reif?”
Tiffany listened closely, hearing Bernard reply. That’s not something you need to worry about. Just know that his boss is someone of high status, and we can’t afford to offend them.”
Maggie was surprised. “How high could it be?”
While she couldn’t claim to know every single person in Arglonas power circle, she was at least 90% familiar with it. That last 10% were the ones at the very peak. Could it be.
As Maggie thought about it, Tiffany naturally came to the same conclusion. She studied Wesley for a moment, feeling suspicious.
Why’s this big shot helping Lisa? Is he just being a hero?
Bernard and Wesley continued their conversation as they walked away, and Tiffany grabbed Lisa’s hand. “You’re not hurt,
you? Let me check!”
“Someone played the hero and saved the day. How could she get hurt?” Maggie scoffed. “Tiffany, come with me. It’s your birthday party today. Don’t waste time on people who aren’t important.”
After saying that, Maggie grabbed Tiffany and walked off, leaving only Nathan and Lisa in the garden.
“Hey,” Nathan said. “William didn’t do anything to you, right?”
Lisa replied calmly, “Since you think I’m the one who seduced William, shouldn’t you be comforting him instead?”

Nathan was speechless. “What’s with that tone? Didn’t they just clear your name? Dad already kicked William out, what more do you want? I invited William today, but he got kicked out. How awkward is that gonna be for us? Are you just thinking about yourself?”
Lisa said. The one who’s only thinking about themselves, who exactly is that?”
She took two steps forward, staring Nathan in the eyes. “If you hadn’t blindly accused me of seducing William last time, would he have had the nerve to touch me at the Olsen Mansion and even try to force a marriage?
“Nathan, do you want me to marry a notorious scumbag who’s already lost two wives just to protect your precious friendship with him? Is that what you think I should do for you?!”
“Are you blaming me?” Nathan said in disbelief. “I was worried about you getting hurt and tried to comfort you, and you’re still accusing me? I do something good and get treated like this!
Lisa replied, “Im not blaming you.
“When there’s hope, there’s disappointment. And when there’s disappointment, there’s blame. She smiled. “Nathan, I never expected you to believe me or stand by my side.”
“Lisa“” Nathan snapped. “Don’t think you can get all cocky just because Dad settles this matter!”
But Lisa ignored him. She limped away toward the deeper part of the garden.
During her struggle with William earlier, she had twisted her ankle but hadn’t had time to check it, and she wasn’t sure how bad it was

Reaching the gazebo, Lisa sat down and, using the light from the garden lamps, examined her ankle. It was bruised and swollen–looked like she had twisted it pretty badly.
Unable to find any medicinal alcohol right away, Lisa knew she had to reset the dislocated bone first. She held her ankle, trying several times but hesitating to apply pressure..
But if she didn’t fix it, it would get worse.
Lisa closed her eyes, took a few deep breaths, and braced herself. Just as she was about to make her move, someone grabbed her ankle. She opened her eyes, but before she could see who it was, she was hit with sharp pain
The pain made her see stars and almost passed out.
“Why are you always in such a mess when I see you?” The man’s voice was low and rich, like aged wine. He was on one of his knees, his hand still holding Lisa’s skinny ankle while the other hand rested on his knee, looking at her.
Lisa was momentarily stunned:
In the moonlight, this guy’s face was like perfectly carved, like someone spent their whole life carving it. His eyebrows were high and his eyes were deep, and they looked sharp, making it difficult for people to look directly at him.
His eyes were aggressive, and his face was all sharp angles, no gentle curves. Straight nose, thin lips, and clean jawline, he was like a sword in its case, you know it’s sharp even if it’s not out
“Have we met?” Lisa asked hesitantly.
