Lasa looked at his arrogant face and couldn’t help but recall the fawning look he’d worn outside the lounge earlier. She almost wanted to laugh
Once Mario and Oscar left, Lisa lay back on the bed, letting out a sigh.
She turned over, and Flint came to mind.
She still hadn’t repaid the favor from last time, and now she owed him yet another meal. She had no idea when she’d be able to repay this favor..
At the same time, the pitch–black Maybach sped off like a shooting star, heading into the unknown.
Inside the car, Wesley spoke up. “Boss, you seem to treat that Olsen girl differently
Flint glanced up, his face unreadable. “What about it?”
Wesley replied, “It’s just that I’ve never seen you be so kind to anyone, even going as far as ordering them a meal.
Flint glanced at the passing nightscape through the window, saying calmly. “Think of it as a birthday gift for her.”
woke up to the news that Tiffany was sick.
The next morning, Lisa woke
And it seemed pretty serious.
Though Lisa couldn’t understand why someone who had been perfectly fine yesterday was suddenly so ill, she didn’t care.
When Nathan heard the news, he rushed back immediately, and the others, who couldn’t make it, called to check in. Lisa listened to the busy sounds outside, her mind calm and unbothered.
In Tiffany’s room, she leaned against the bed, looking pale. The food beside her remained untouched, and she seemed fragile, like a delicate flower swaying in the wind, pitifully weak.
Tiffany, Maggie said with concern, “You have to eat something, even just a little. You go without food.”
“Mom, I have no appetite” Tiffany shook her head.
“You were fine yesterday, how did you suddenly get sick?” Maggie gently stroked her daughter’s head. “Even the doctor couldn’t figure it out… Maybe we should go to the hospital for a checkup? Get an X–ray r something-
Before Maggie could finish speaking. Tiffany’s tears began to fall, one by one.
“Mom…Tiffany choked out, “I’m not sick. I’m just…” She clutched her chest, her voice breaking. “I just don’t feel right
inside.”
Maggie panicked, pulling her into an embrace. “Did someone make you angry?”
“No,” Tiffany muttered softly. “Mom, can I break off my engagement with Neil?”
“What?” Maggie was startled. “You’ve liked Neil since you were a child, and now that your engagement is almost finalized- why are you suddenly saying something like this?”
Tiffany’s voice was barely a whisper. “Yesterday, I heard Neil ask Lisa what she thought about the engagement. He even said that if Lasa agreed, he would change the engagement back.”
Her voice trembled with tears, sounding sad. “This engagement was always between Neil and Lisa. If the person Neil truly wants is Lisa, why should I keep making myself miserable? I should let them be together and let myself go.”
“It’s Lisa again!” Maggie clenched her teeth. “Tiffany, don’t overthink this. Can’t we see how Neil feels about you? He definitely likes you. The reason he said that must be because Lisa has been influencing him.”
“But

“Silly child,” Maggie said softly, wiping away Tiffany’s tears. “You shouldn’t let something like this upset you. Don’t overthink it. How could Neil not like you? Forget about breaking off the engagement–never bring it up again.”
She patted Tiffany’s shoulder. ‘T’ll go ask the kitchen to make you something else to eat. You should rest now.”
Seeing Tillany nod, Maggie stood up and left the room. As soon as the door closed, the warmth on her face vanished. She hurried to the balcony and called Mario. “Before, when I suggested marrying Lisato William, you refused, saying you already had someone else in mind. So, what exactly are you and your father planning?”
Mario, exhausted after finishing an international conference, barely lifted his eyes when he heard his mother’s question. “Why are you asking about this all of a sudden?”
Just tell me what exactly you’re planning!”
Mario was silent for a moment before answering, “The company’s financial reports over the past two years have been steadily declining. If this continues, we might have to declare bankruptcy.”
Maggie froze.
She knew the Olsens weren’t as strong as they once were, but she hadn’t realized it had gotten to the point of bankruptcy
“So, we need a powerful ally, Mario continued. “Someone who can help our family.”
Maggie’s mind raced. “You mean using Lisa for an arranged marriage? But do you really think anyone would be interested in her?”
“Mom, Lisa may not have much, but she’s got her looks. Do you think there are many men who wouldn’t be attracted to her face?” Mario rubbed his temple.
Although Maggie was reluctant to admit it. Lasa was undeniably beautiful.
