Tiffany’s lips curled into a smirk, followed by a soft scoff. She dumped the turpentine into the toilet, then tossed the empty bottle into the trash.
Xavier really thought handing Lisa a bottle of turpentine would fix things? He’s gotten too soft from his art studies. He is so naïve, thinking that would smooth everything over.
Lisa finally managed to clean the paint with soapy water. She laid the dress flat, making sure it dried properly. But when it was dry, the fabric had still distorted slightly.
The room was cramped and had no closet. Lisa kept her clothes folded in the drawers. She carefully folded the dress and tucked it into the back of the drawer, sighing softly.
At least Xavier didn’t stick around. He left the next day for some inspiration in the countryside.
With no one at home, Lisa enjoyed the quiet. But soon, she found herself thinking about money.
She counted her savings again–1,632 bucks. That was it.
It was barely enough to leave Arglonas with her mom after graduation.

A new city meant rent, bills, food. Everything would cost money. She couldn’t expect to find a job right away. She needed cushion.
But writing songs for Riley was out. Julius had his eyes on Alora Hill. If he found out she’d sabotaged him, he wouldn’t hesitate to ruin her.
She needed a new plan.
Her savings were small. Starting a business with so little wasn’t realistic.
Lisa thought hard. She walked around town, trying to sketch out a temporary way to make money.
But before she could act, something happened at home.
Mario fell ill.
The Olsens had two strong pillars–Bernard and Mario.
To his younger siblings, Mario was serious and strong, a mountain that couldn’t be moved. And when that mountain suddenly faltered, everyone was shaken.
Even Lisa was surprised.
She didn’t remember this from her past life.
Though she didn’t care much about Mario, she went with Tiffany to the hospital to visit him.

“The cause is long–term poor eating habits, leading to acute gastric ulcers,” the doctor explained to a pale Maggie. “He’s fine now, but he needs to change his diet. No matter how young you are, eating one meal a day–nobody can handle that, not even someone as strong as he is.”
Maggie nodded, her worry obvious. “Okay, doctor. I’ll talk to him. Will there be any long–term effects?”
The doctor gave a slight shake of his head. “Stomach problems are hard to treat, especially with his condition … But he’s still young. He needs to be careful. While he’s here, bring him food he likes–something light and easy to digest. No takeout. Too much oil.
Maggie nodded, then asked, “Can we see him now?”
“You can, but don’t bring too many people. He’s still very weak,” the doctor replied.

“Tiffany Maggie called, turning to her. “Mario always spoils you. He’ll want to see you now. You’re coming with me!”
“Okay
The two women entered the VIP room. Mario lay there, pale and barely alive, propped up against the bed like a fragile shell.
Maggie’s breath caught. She couldn’t hold back her tears. “Mario… What did you do to yourself? How many times have I told you that health is everything?
I’m fine, Mario muttered, frowning. “The secretary’s overreacting.”
“Overreacting? You threw up blood and passed out!” Maggie’s voice cracked as she spoke.
“Mom, Mario just woke up. Don’t scold him now.” Tiffany’s voice was gentle.
Maggie wiped her tears away and softly ran her hand through Mario’s hair. “Mario, what do you want to eat? Tell me, and I’ll make it for you?
Mario grimaced. “You’re cooking? I’d rather eat air.”
Maggie had never cooked a day in her life. Her skills were… legendary, for all the wrong reasons.
“I can’t cook, but your sister can!” Maggie said quickly. “Every time you’ve been sick, Tiffany’s the one who brought you food. What do you want? I’ll make sure Tiffany gets it for you.”
Tiffany’s eyes flickered, like she wanted to refuse. But before she could, Mario spoke. “Tortellini in brodo.”
“Got it. Tiffany will make it for you when we get home!” Maggie promised.
Tiffany just smiled, resigned. “I’ll make extra.”
Meanwhile, Lisa waited in the hallway, growing bored as she stared out at the busy street below.
Then her eyes froze.
She was looking out at the hospital entrance when a Cullinan pulled up. A figure stepped out–someone with bright blue hair. Behind them stood a tall man in a sharp suit. Even from this distance, even without seeing their faces, something about them sent a cold shiver down her spine.
